I can't see any way conceivable realistic way that he would walk from $550k, without being compensated his money by other means (outside of the salary cap).

I'm wondering if something untoward has happened and he's been asked to leave. Similar to when an employee does something worthy of dismissal but they're given the opportunity to hand in a resignation.

Pure speculation of course, but could be an explanation.

I think that could be likely too without being privy to anything. It's one thing to be given permission to look elsewhere but to walk away from 550k - looks suspect.

Fittler dug the boot in when he declared last week that “someone got it wrong” when the gun fullback was let go to join the Storm and said Papehuyzen was a standout player all through his development.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports Tigers chair Lee Hagipantellis, who is also the owner of Brydens Lawyers — the Blues’ major sponsor — asked club officials to speak to Fittler and find out of he has an issue with the club.
