Just watched Jock Maddens highlights on Utube from 2019,very impressive,would not be surprised to see him in the top grade,.

I had tried find highlights of Jake Simpkin a few nights ago, have to admit the only one I seen that appeared was NSW vs QLD under 18? Croft was actually number 9 majority of that game.. So at this stage.. photos look good of him, but the Jake Simpkin stuff can pipe down until someone provides either good highlights or he has a run in first grade..

After struggling to get LM and JAC over the line its becoming a little clearer to me that players think differently to fans. Looking at our club from the outside the trouble is our spine, its one of the lowest rated in the comp.

Two young unproven hookers, a good but limited half back, an unproven 5/8 and a fullback who at this stage isnt even at the club.

We cant do much about that. Its on the players in those key positions to back up the faith the coach has placed in them in 2021. Maybe then the perception of this club will change a bit.

For now i think we have done well with the outside backs we have recruited, as good as job as can be expected.

Hopefully we can round out the squad with a decent back rower and a spine player who can give us a plan B.

I am assuming that the issues you have raised are the fans thinking and not being suggested as the reason we are missing signings

More the reality of the situation if we took our fan hats off.

Mentioned this on this forum about a month ago, but I’ve been told by those close to the Warriors that Israel Ogden has joined the Wests Tigers on a development contract. Played as a fullback for the Warriors in the NSW Cup. Warriors fans have big wraps on him. Anyone hear anything about this?

He looks to have ability from what I can see. A lot of money, time and effort has gone into 'promising youngsters'. Hopefully it pays off...

i read a comment on Ogden from a Warriors' fan and he rated him one of the top three juniors at the club.

I wouldn't hate if Roberts and/or Roberts-Davis were signed to 2nd tier contracts and a 1st grade spot or 2 left open if we need to promote someone as injury cover prior to June 30.

I thought i read somewhere on here that Roberts-Davis is on a train and trial with us.

Who is Roberts-Davis ?

He is a winger from Macksville and previously played for the Titans and Keebra Park. He is related to James, Tyronne and Amos Roberts. I also think he is related to former Balmain 5/8 Paul Davis.

Maybe Souths were paying him market value? You cannot come over the top with an above market offer and then complain you're not getting bang for buck. Anyway if true, let's hope WTs are in a position to capitalise.

If reports re: what he’s on are correct (almost $1m) he’s definitely not worth it (can’t think of a forward that is worth that). But he’s still a hell of a player and an elite 2nd rower. Would make a material difference to our team both defensively and in attack. If we could somehow land him we shouldn’t hesitate.

Not true, in 2019 the roosters attack was wildly biased to the left side where Keary and Latrell were. He didn’t play poorly, he just got limited opportunities. Even with that he still averaged 100m a game in attack and was good defensively.

Thought he was good in 2020.
