First time i have ever seen BJ look cut
Let's hope that gives him more confidence to trample over his opposition

I read in an article the exact same thing happened when he joined Canberra. His first year there he was unfit and struggled, came back the next year cut a heap of weight and got fit and was dally m centre. He’s such a damaging ball runner, hopefully fixing his weight and mobility fixes his defence too.

When do you say enough? Wouldn't it be preferable to put our long term option in the centre and stick with him?

I think he’ll be good for us next year and if he’s playing good enough he’s gotta be in the team. Hard to know if Roberts will play and Talau could play wing or centre.

Pretty much regardless of contracts and age whoever’s playing the best should be starting and I think it’ll be Joey combining well with Doueihi on that right edge

Physical fitness and pyschological makeup are the difference between an outstanding player and the weakest link. Why do WTs believe they are different to the Raiders, Newcastle or the Roosters?

Covid is not going away. While overseas arrivals continue, the risk of the infection into the community is real. We may not see our families at Christmas and I would not be surprised if a bubble is not being planned for next season. So what will change?

Do you think he was never good at the Raiders, Knights or Roosters? I seem to recall he was one of the best centres in the game for periods at the Raiders, the only attacking weapon in the Knights backline before he left them and a dangerous young winger (with poor hands) at the Roosters...The Tigers just need to get him back to his best - which is very good.

Every one has a point of view and I accept they do. I've never been a supporter and in addition to those reasons why I did not support his purchase, he does not represent the future of WTs. We have some very good young players I'd like to see given a chance.

Hi all, heard a pretty loose rumour (friend got told by a friend, who got told by a friend etc.) that Penrith will releases Laurie to us for next season if we agree to take Mansour too. Anyone know if there’s any truth to this?

It is something that has been discussed.

Do you reckon it’s going to happen?

I don't think so as it was about 3 weeks ago and hasn't happened yet.

I don't know if they want Laurie enough for 2021 to take on Mansour. I am guessing they are holding off until Nofo is re-signed or not, because then they can give Mansour that 2-year deal.

I personally am also interested to know the plan for Mbye, because Laurie would probably be the fullback choice if he comes early, and that puts Doueihi into 5/8th, Liddle hooker, Mbye to the bench.

Mbye probably 14th man all year if that works out, like it or lump it. And then Moses can accept that he's probably one of the better utilities going around, if he will accept being on the bench.

Yeah it is an interesting one, I think Laurie will give us cover in 2 positions we are short in, 5/8th and fullback. I don't know if he starts the year at fullback even if he comes but once he does move into the fullback role that pushes Mbye back into a position where he can be both our Backup fullback, backup 5/8th and at a stretch fill in at hooker.

Laurie coming early does alot for our depth in the spine positions and that is where we are incredibly short on experience in my opinion.

I agree, we definitely need extra options across our spine. Mybe, as the only multi-position plug to fill any injury holes could be an issue in 2021

The longer Mansour's management takes to sign a new contract will work in our benefit. His price will continue to drop, and if we're smart we can pick him up for peanuts

I rate him and think he'll be a good backup

We can be patient here, we hold all the cards. Penrith are wanting to offload Mansour, and we’ve already signed Laurie for 2022. We can sit around and wait for a good enough offer from penrith there’s no rush at all

The elephant in the room is Nofa not signing yet

If he doesn't and pushes to leave early to Parra, we're in need of an experienced winger

If that happens I say yes to Mansour (200k / 2 years + club option ) but only if we get Laurie in 2021

I'm keen to see what Laurie has to offer. The sooner the better

For me, it's a big room because I can find at least 2 elephants in there.
One is your reference about Nofa, and for me (and maybe more crucial me thinks) is the lack of a consistent high-percentage goal kicker.

If he doesn't re-sign, he is still with WTs until end of 2021. We should be in a position to find our own replacement from within.

None of what you said made sense. Literally nothing. Like what dyu even mean here?

"Physical fitness and pyschological makeup are the difference between an outstanding player and the weakest link. Why do WTs believe they are different to the Raiders, Newcastle or the Roosters?"

Lmao

It's pretty clear and one poster has responded. Like what don't you understand?

Paws, I rate you cos you seem very sure of yourself. But read the last few posts. The translations getting lost a bit.
Something I noticed about you, your hell bent on hating players immediately. Nofa, Bj, Luciano.

Also look at the rating on your last few posts, cos they are in the negatives mate, "specially the post in question"

regardless lets banter, I'll always be down.

I can't recall ever writing a negative post about Luciano.

Leilua J has been an extremely poor buy, so against the youth approach we have adopted.

My view on Nofoaluma is clear so I don't need to repeat it.

As for recruitment, I like to read Sir Alex Fergusons approach and note the synergies between him having little money and investing what he did have in youth and the WTs' approach.

https://www.opustalentsolutions.com/blog-news-and-social/sir-alex-fergusons-talent-strategy-how-to-build-a-successful-team

Usually , I am fairly positive towards the Club but this is a forum so views will differ. As for negative reps, who cares.

Paws I am super glad you are not in charge of recruitment at the club I love. I honestly think you have some of the lowest iq comments ever on this forum. Very keen to see how next years team go.

Also your link is baseless literally, I've shown better

Is there anywhere u can go to find out (or maybe some one could work out) how much cap space we have for the 2021 season? Also what happened to the swap deal between cini and Laurie? Is that off the table now due to panthers wanting to offload mansour?

I actually think if Laurie comes it spells trouble for Mbye. Mbye might start at fullback but if Laurie takes over at any stage Mbye is out of the 17 because I think Maguire will go with Liddle and Simpkin as rotating hookers

Question: would people rather Widdop (1y)/Noffa (3y) or Laurie (4y)/Mansour(2y). If I had to choose I would probably take Laurie/Mansour

that's hard, can we not do nofa and laurie?

Hard call. Both scenarios have upside and downside.
On Nofoaluma, I really want him to re-sign as I value loyalty but if I’m honest, as footballers I thing him and mansour are interchangeable

Just like you and the other @tigersteve 😉

I think the real question is can we do better with the 2 spots left in the squad? There isn't much out there.

Ideally, we really would want to keep at least one spot free for potential mid year leaps.

So, if we can swap cini out at the same time and not lock in mansour for long, then I think we should seriously consider it. He'd be a good mentor for the younger kids coming through.

Plus, we need what Laurie will bring.

Mansour has to be ready to fight for his spot - no guarantees.

We'll still have a bunch of cash too, so that has to be a consideration somewhere. Can we use it to extend guys like noffa and front load a bit?

Certainly not sure of why, but Nofo hasn’t seemed to be showing loyalty atm?

But I do think wingers are the easiest position to change, quick blokes are coming through every day.

I’ve heard Nofoaluma is getting itchy feet about wanting to play semi final footy and also thinks his value has gone up. You could call that disloyal but you could also call it fair. I think we are heading towards finals footy but we regressed on field in 2020 and maybe he’s had enough. I hope he stays though.
