And corey thompson goddamn, only bloke I regret that we let go of, understandable why we did but his all heart love watching him play

Sam will probably only play 2 or 3 games during the origin period unless their is some injuries. Can't see where he'd fit into our team either when all fit apart from maybe Garners spot

He wouldn't be making our bench if everyone's fit. He would've been nice to have when Musgrove was suspended while Blore was injured but he's not a massive loss

After today's performance I would not be surprised to see Nth Qld try and get Mbye immediately
Maybe we could convince them to take Packer as well

Issue would be who we want in return.
Can’t see him being sent to the Cowboys for free.

They have a grub enforcer they are trying to offload on a similar contract (time frame)
But I would rather keep Mbye

We can't afford to run background checks on players and only sign charity workers.... McGuire is a grub but he would be a solid pickup and footy is what matters

I'm very proud of the fact our club hasn't ever been seen as purveyers of grubby play.
To the point that even the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Finger" or Tim Simona stuff never left a stigma upon our great clubs name in the same way Storm cheated the cap or Easts Rorters continually seem so flushed for choice or Sharks being found over the cap every year either side of their premiership.
Our integrity is intact.
We are proud.
We signed bone-heads before, the most recent having been dropped last week.
Was it last year McGuire got done for eye-gouging?
Let us not even entertain the thought of having someone of so little repute at our club.
If we limp... we limp like men!

I think most teams do respect us, we are quite known for producing the unexpected

Havn't been in contention for a while sure but we make most teams sweat regardless

People need to stop suggesting moving players around! This is one of the main reasons we struggle. The best teams have a spine that have played together for years! Our spine is 2 games strong! People are already suggesting to change it for next year? Then we start again! 1,6,7 sorted and 9 looks set for a while even tho Simpkin will definitely be an option for us in the near future. No to reynolds. There’s a reason Souths won’t offer him more than one year and he won’t make any difference if we play the way we did first 2 games. Lachlan Lewis weights about 40kg... idk how some people think he can play lock. Would much prefer hastings if that was the case.

2 players that would be great buys are Naden (center or wing) and Nicho Hynes (wing but quality fb and halves depth) hynes wants a full time gig somewhere next year, he most likely won’t get that at the storm. These 2 will give us strike and would be very affordable. We also need a meter eating big bopper for next year.

Nico Hynes is a great Idea . Is he a winger though ?

He plays fullback, wing and last night he played as hooker.

We already have a jack of all trades master of none
We need a specialist winger or Centre if Talau was to move to lock
But I think Talau moving is a long way off
Now getting Nico in to Play 14 would be OK if you rate him over Mbye
And I am not so sure he is better of at his standard yet
But at a third of Mbyes price we'll then yes
As this frees up $ for elsewhere

Put me on record - Hynes is twice as good as Mbye.

If we manage to flog off Mr Moneybags" - Hynes is a ready made replacement who can play 1, 2,3, 4,5 6, 7 and 9 and player every position better than Mbye, also has a kicking game, plays with enthusiasm, good passing game, good defender and a lot more value.

So who's spot does he take
1 Laurie
2 Nofoaluma
3 Roberts
4 Talau / Bj
5 Aj ????
6 Brooks
7 Doueihi
Or 9 Liddle or Simpkin

I think he would be our 14
I don't see him pushing out a current player unless is at #5
And for that position I think we need a specialist
So would he come here to play 14

He would probably prefer to stay at Melbourne
As would any number 14 if you think about it

Hynes was born in Gosford and grew up on the Central Coast. He played his junior rugby league for the Umina Beach Bunnies and Woy Woy Roosters and was then signed by Manly Sea Eagles NYC team in 2015 before spending the next two seasons of 2017-18 with the Mackay Cutters where he played 42 Queensland Intrust Super Cup matches. In 2019 he signed with the Melbourne Storm and continues to play in the Intrust Super Cup for Sunshine Coast Falcons.

He may like to come back to NSW and close to the Central Coast (you never know) with the big three gone, Paps in one and Munster in the other of his preferred positions he would be no worse off here. Also if Bellamy goes at the end of the year, the next coach may not be a Hynes fan. If he came for next year, when he is off contract and Madge picked players on their ability I could see him replacing Talau in the centre or AJ on the wing (I am also a fan of both), but I think he is better than both and is only 24.

Hopefully if Mbye goes, who do we get to fill in at FB, 5/8, DH, etc. It is not going to be Simpkin.

You ask, why would he come here - as above and if you don't ask, you don't get. Just my opinion.

Yeah it's gone great for us not playing like Melbourne for the last decade... really glad we decided not to do that ?

Honestly, yes.

Sterlo in about 2015 " everyone is plAying like melbourne. There are only 3 original teams in the comp, Manly, Tigers and <cant remember who>".

Yes we need to win, but being a secondrate melbourne just means we change from loosers to sucky wannabe loosers.

Well let's see if he progresses or regresses
If he progresses we may start to believe but ever so slightly
If he regresses then the calls will be to send him to Townsville with Mbye
Myself I would give him to round 10 before any descisions are made
There must be considerable improvement and consistency
We can't afford same old same old any longer

Absolutely, he’s been awful since he got back from the US. He’s not a fullback and these days he’s a bog average winger too.
