SHHHHHHH

This column is aware of three clubs circling Parramatta NYC prop Sean Keppie.

Off-contract next year, Keppie is an Australian Schoolboys representative and played 27 games for the Eels’ NYC side in 2017.

SHHHHHHH II

Which Manly player is unhappy and looking to leave?

He’s still under contract for 2018 but has quietly approached a rival club about a move.

This player only managed a handful of top grade games in 2017.

/////////////////

My initial thought for the second one was Lewis Brown wanting to come back and play for us again.

Jackson Hastings, Shaun Lane, Cameron Cullen or Jarrad Kennedy would seem the likely candidates if there is any truth to the rumour. I'll go Cullen back to Titans given they've lost Tyrone Roberts as depth in the halves.

Where has Roberts gone? I missed that news.

Hastings is being chased by Canterbury.

I can’t call Rona a big name. The only other one would be Koribete…

I wouldn't call him a big name either but being clubless is probably what made me think of him.
I would love him here, miles ahead of what we currently have.

I really hope Hayne is on his way back to Parra, He's a cancer, Parra will go backwards, the same way the Titans did.

What a combo. Hayne & Moses

Imagine Hayne, Norman and Moses in the same team. I don't think there's a dressing room big enough for those 3 egos.

I’d keep my powder dry sign RTS for 2019 and Cleary for 2020.

Exactly.

We get a good team base together. Great guys, who can play well for OK money.

We cull the weaker players. We then hunt the strongest.

Fullback is one of our greatest weaknesses at the moment. I like Lolohea, but other then him I think were weak there. I can see us getting a great FB, Marshall retiring and Lolohea moving to that off the bench spot. RTS would do nicely.

Likewise Halfback, Brooks will probably fail. He will probably get replaced by Marshall week 6.

Nobody knows - but I think you are incorrect with your feelings on Lolohea. I think he will be a great full back (his preferred position). He thinks about the game and usually takes the right option i.e. short kick, chip kick, short / long pass or run to the line - he can do all these things (Teddy could not, because he wanted to score the try, he wanted to be the star). Tui is no worse a defender than Teddy, in fact at full back he is a much better defender than he is at 5/8\. On the form shown this year, I think we are in a stronger position at full back than 2017\. Don't get the negativity on this guy, I think he has the x factor.

As for Brooks - people on here seem to be wishing that he fails. For those people that think this way, I feel you will be disappointed. There won't be any need for him to be replaced in week 6 or any other week unless he is injured of course.

Don't get me wrong at all.
Lolohea has awesome potential and unlike our halfback hasn't had time to show that. I think he was an awesome buy and hopefully will turn out to be a fun player to watch.
Other then hiring cap penalities, we should not sign anyone else unless they are a really cheap gun we need.

We have a stack of Wingers, but only really Lolohea is earmarked for Fullback and he hasn't spent a lot of time there. Kev N is another choice and he has been hot/cold in the past, glad too see him heat up lately. I think we will be weak there till he gets used to the position and how he fits defensively.

Lets break the 8 in 2018.

It will be great to see the team implode due to the jostling for "center stage" by those 3

Rumours are that dylan napa may be released from the roosters.. parra are making a play for him. I really hope ivan is keeping a eye on what happens with him because i think he will be a awesome addition to our squad. Thoughts anyone??

Absolutely go for Napa.

Scary thought, if Rorters are shedding Napa, with their $1m already, who are they going for? They need someone strong in the forwards, could be another big name… What's SBW doing these days?

Would be nice but usually when a good player is released he already has a new deal organized and there has been plenty of talk about him going to parra

Would really love to see him at tiger's though.

What a front row we would have

2 questions.

First, why are the Roosters releasing him? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Second, how are Parra supposed to afford him with Hayne coming?

Buzz in the DT had Dylan Napa listed at $550,000\. Zero Tackle has him listed at 700k for the next two seasons.
He's a rep player, so he won't come cheap.
If we got Napa for fours years at 550-650K per year i'd be stoked.
I wouldn't go out and pay the big dollars (like the Dogs did with Woods) as there will be other positions we will need to strengthen first.
He's a fair bit younger than Packer/Mats and is solid enough, without being outstanding.

Roosters are mad! I would've shed JWH before Napa. JWH is on his way out, Napa just beginning his career as a prop really and he's a damn good one at that.

Now that Pearce has gone, there should be no need to release Napa.

We should look at the Aust Schools prop from the Eels, whom the DT reported that 3 clubs were chasing.

Absolutely agree.

The thing i don't get though is why would they even consider releasing anyone especially a good young prop if they are 1mil under the cap.

Must be something good in it for them
