I woukd be disappointed if we dont put a really good offer to B Smith seems like he doesn't just want to play starting 9 now that could help us.
Pay overs for him Wests Tigers pay him 900k if you have to much better long term Signing than tpj or finucane

I agree, he would be very good 13 for us, we have enough good 9s already.

If Curtis Scott was good his other teams would have found a way to keep him.

With that logic we should’ve never signed Laurie, Doueihi, Twal, Luciano and Joffa

All arguably our best players who were unwanted at there current clubs when they signed with us

Curtis Scott would be our first centre picked, and he’ll cost peanuts…. walks into our team for sure

I guess where does Brooks and Hastings fit in.
would be great as b Smith at 13
Hastings at 14
Hooker either Liddle or Simpkin

The bit I read on Scott coming to us suggested it might just be a loan type deal for the balance of this season to cover WT injury issues.

Hope not.
We need him for a few years.

Why would Canberra help us like that?
We're both competing for the final spot in the 8....

They're trying to agitate for a move with Brooks.
We aren't on good terms lol.

Brooks’ kicks were going where he wanted and he played well last couple of games. Something has pumped up his tyres?

Maybe he's realise it's time to prove his worth and take control.

He doesn't want to play for the Raiders - who would ?

With all the shopping talk, which is coming from the raiders end... not ours... it looks like he's realising Tigers is his team and his home.

Jeez what a story ?

He went to Canberra to get out of Sydney so he could stay out of trouble so what better move then to come back to Sydney and play for a team that is in a constant rabble and a coach that seems to have players in a revolt every few weeks. Yeah he’s only young but he’s hardly matured. No better support system than your piss head mates you know live a small drive away from.

No one is fixing their Career here. Plus what a waste of time for an immediate transfer. Even if we signed him today, he’d play 4 games and we won’t make the 8 anyway.

It’s just as upsetting to me as anyone about all the big targets we’ve missed lately but this reeks of desperation.
If the club go through with this or any potential deal for woods, we’ve learned nothing and don’t deserve better.

Wasn't Tpg's past behaviour just as bad and everyone was all over signing him?

For those unaware,

Bikie culture has infiltrated street gang scene.
A lot of the street gangs start of as ethnic friend groups such as African/Sudanese in some areas, middle Eastern or Polynesian backgrounds.

A lot of Polynesian street gangs in Sydney from different areas... the bikies recruit from within so nowadays bikie gangs have a lot of Polynesian members, middle Eastern members, etc.

TPJ being Tongan may have been life long friends with some guy who is now affiliated...

@willow I'm sure can confirm but yeah, the bikies aren't just old aussie rockers with long hair anymore.

Give me a break. I’d say close to 30% of the NRL is affiliated or has been affiliated with bikies or some form of organised crime at a point. Tevita got a haircut, big deal. Scott’s been arrested numerous times in very little time and in those times he’s been in Canberra and Melbourne, imagine what’ll happen when he’s back home.

Comparing to TPJ is also laughable. Pangai junior is 5 times the player Scott is. As I said earlier, it’s everyone being desperate to just get any old player in . Scott has been a horribly average player in his last season with Melbourne and his years with Canberra so we’re all rallying for him because he’s better than what we have ?
By a bees dick he is.

Modern bay Bikies are predominantly made up of people of Middle East and Polynesian descent. As you said, they’re around it from a young age and it can be hard to escape.

One of the main reasons for TPJ moving back to Sydney is because of his recent conversion to Islam which I heard he is taking very seriously

Payne Haas is of the same faith.

Well he's picked the right club to join if he's serious, I'm sure Hazem is still involved and can support him somewhat.

Only a stones throw from trouble though, like AFB's little situation of trying to balance being a sports star and an inner west soldier.

I’m with you there, happy with Curtis when injury free he’s an asset. Ball creativity, strong defence and bigger body. Honestly walks into our starting 13, he improves our squad.

Let’s not be fooled with woods, and the way he left. He was our captain and leader and rather be transparent that he was leaving (he was secretly touring the dogs facilities and facilitating a deal with Moses and teddy to come as well), he kept pulling the club and supporters along. Which delayed our potential recruitment and also placed us into the start of the position we are finally coming out of now. The big contracts to fill the void on short notice, Reynolds, Mbye, Packer etc.

He may of loved the club, but was a determining factor in many of the problems we have dealt with since, whether this was intentional or not.

He’ll be spending a lot of time with Sonny and from what I’ve heard hes now one of the most devout muslims around. They adore him around his area.

Not sure Tevitas family is too happy about the conversion though ?

Exactly.
The forum got it's collective panties in a bunch over missing out on a bikie associate.
There' a whole lot of selective morality on here.

He’ll be spending a lot of time with Sonny and from what I’ve heard hes now one of the most devout muslims around. They adore him around his area.

Not sure Tevitas family is too happy about the conversion though ?

I left SBW a comment on IG and I had literally 3 people from different countries follow me and chat to me... all followers of Islam.

I asked who they were and they said they saw my comment and I asked if they knew much about SBW and all 3 said they didn't know his background but loved the message he was promoting.

So yeah, I believe it...
SBW is 1 of my all time favorites.
I believe TPJ will benefit massively by having him around. Love it.

I’d say close to 30% of the NRL is affiliated or has been affiliated with bikies or some form of organised crime at a point.

You say that like it's acceptable.
If you consort with criminals then the chances of you becoming involved with criminal behaviour multiply exponentially.
Nobody will watch a corrupt competition.

No I say it because it’s true. Some can juggle it and some can’t. Can’t help the area you grow up in and the people you grow up around and for most Pacific Islanders, they are loyal to the end. Plenty of players have moved on from that life to focus on footy and they are better for it.

There's been 100 tales where a player is coming through, whatever happens and then all of a sudden you see them in the news for some crime related issue.

Chris Bloomfield is one that comes to mind, former U20 Gold Coast Titans player.

Heard former Commo/Hells Angel Big Kash say on his Podcast he grew up with Hayne, Loko and a few other lads and he's close friends with Blake Ferguson.

I'd assume the same women chasing NRL players may also be chasing the 1% types. All attend the same venues (Night clubs, etc.) They probably cross paths all the time.

Just how it is these days.

Crap.
You are responsible for your own choices between right and wrong every day. It's a choice to live right, it's not a pre determined consequence oy your past.
Loyalty is a weak minded cop out for those who continue to follow a criminal path.

Completely different circumstances for those blokes (aside from Joffa). Scott has no one ahead of him at Canberra.

Yes, he's better than what we have. Doesn't make him good.

Do you think he is good?
