The guy we need in some coaching capacity is James Maloney. He is a winner and has the best football brain /leadership qualities and track record. Wherever he goes success follows. Stitch him up before one of the big clubs do. Am I the only one to see this? He will coach one day so why not get in early and make an offer instead of pontificating about and speculating about needing leaders.

Does he even want to be a coach? Didn’t want to come here as a player, he just laughed and said no when it was suggested, could not see that attitude changing as a coach.

He is a clever guy and always followed the money. I think pragmatism may win out if the money was right , worth dipping the toe. Hopefully our setup will be more attractive when he is ready.

I'm predicting that there will be 1 or 2 signings this week.
I doubt big signings, though we should have the cash.

The club will be looking for some public wins following the splashing throughout the press their 'review' has had. And good news stories of anything less than signings won't cut it.

Our club should take initiative and increase and extend Stefano, Laurie, Simpkin, Blore and bring in the kids to top 30. Move on from Brooks, Liddle, Garner, Tamou and build from now. Give Madge the next two seasons to bring things together and recruit next year.

Veterans on 1-2 year deals would be wise Tariq Sims and or young players looking for opportunity. The club has to be truthful and rebuild this side won’t make the finals and I don’t want them trying to buy a side that can do it in the short term. It’s the wrong way we will suck for a few years but they have to make it happen.

There needs to be ramifications for a few contracted players and they need to find new clubs ASAP !
Now the club wants to keep Maguire the ones that showed no conviction or respect for the coach need to be punted regardless of the cost .

Frankly, I dont want to make the finals, I want to win the Grand Final. It really is all or nothing. So yes, I agree with you completely, no point in putting tape around a side that might scrap into the 8, I want to work towards a side that could win the whole thing.

Really it would be crippling to us, and it would put us backwards 5 years, if we already lost some of our juniors and youngsters who we've put so much hope in. Losing Stef, Laurie, even Blore and Simpkin/Liddle now could be the final nail in seeing us relocated to Perth or the Central Coast.

Tbf not many teams in the comp can guarantee their coaches safety year to year with the exception of possibly the top 5 teams and teams like the Sharks who've taken on a new coach.
