Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm in the optimism camp. Personally I can't understand how anyone could subject themselves to the torture of following this club without at least a tiny bit of optimism (or at least hope?)

I think Hastings is the medicine we need.
I think our young guns will be a bit less young and a bit more gun.
We will 100% make some extra signings over the next couple of months.
I have the unpopular opinion that Gildart will be a star.
I even think AJ will go well this year.

My only real concern is that the Panthers will stinge on repairs to the trophy before they have to hand it over next year.

I like it. I too have high hopes for Gildart. Whilst he's no Ellery, maybe he's our Andy Courier? If everyone remembers '05, we went through a lean patch that year. Our premiership odds blew out to 1000 to 1. Maybe we've just our lean spot a year early, leaving '22 clear to sail?

The positive with Sheens is that he won a comp as coach in 2005, we then lost a number of good players to the Titans startup - including our best ever halfback. Sheens couldn’t replace him.

But he put a team together and made finals in 2010 & 11.

So he put a capable squad together within 5 years.

A lot better than this era

**My only concern is Sheens is coming back from English league to ours and ours is harder and faster ,** I’m also not sure what Sheens coaching record is after grand final win in 2005 with the Tigers , how did he go over in England , I know Madge is our coach but sheens will be buying his troops

There was not a line of clubs in the UK trying to sign him so perhaps even they thought he was out of touch. Not a great prospect is it

You do realise Sheens is not coming to play or coach?

I am well aware of that i just hope Sheens is aware also

Sheens is good promoter in the youth program, and believes in the saying .. if you're good enough .. you're old enough .. !!

In saying that we might see a lot of Tommy, AJ, Junior Pauga and William Kei popping up in our side for 2022. I strongly believe Tommy will end up in the back row as ball playing back rower. At 6'2" and nearly 100kgs he'd be perfect for the position in a year or 2.

I think that he is the perfect modern prototype for a back rower

How bad is Tommy’s knee? We might not see much of him?

Exciting and worrying.
Pauga not 1st grade standard. Tommy started to show some promise but probably at a bit of a crossroads when he gets back on the field. Kei has been meh. Happy to give AJ another crack at centre.

Running with a Liddle / Simpkin combo again wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. But if Liddle wasn't a happy camper already, he definitely won't be a happy camper having been so openly talked about being replaced.

We move too slow

So you’d prefer we just coughed up and paid the full toll on his over the odds contract?

Once again there are plenty of things the the club can be fairly criticised for but refusing to pay overs for a 31 year old shouldn’t be one of them.
