Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Is Edwards the Panthers FB on the market ? A good tough footballer at the right price. Laurie is talented and will get better , and i would like to see him given a go at 5/8 -- just a thought !

Until the NRL starts losing revenue from fans not buying their team's merchandise or not subscribing to Kayo, they will continue to turn a blind eye. We can either suck it up and wait for another '05 or just try harder to rort the system ourselves. We do need smarter leaders though, if that's the path we choose.

Totally. If we want to win we have to admit that we aren’t even playing in the same league.
Being so virtuous all the time isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I’m over it.
We have to get the right people at the helm who are more creative with their accounting and have connections with power.

Surely if Cotric goes back to Canberra then we'd have to go hard for a few of their young backs. Make Simmondson a big offer, HSS, or Timoko too. They can't all be on the field at the same time.

This was in the DT article about cotric to raiders last week re Simonnson:

It’s believed the Dogs are only willing to contribute $150,000 towards Cotric’s salary for 2022 - a number short of the level of cap-relief the Raiders would need to fit the former NSW Origin winger into their cap.

The Raiders will only sign Cotric if his arrival is without major implications to their current cap.

Secondly, Canberra would only make the move if Simonsson - who has two years left on his contract - is content to join Parramatta, which it’s understood the 23-year-old is.

Yes but where exactly does he fit there? We can offer him the gametime and money he wants. Why would Canberra care where he goes, only that he does.

And yes DOgs will have to chip in 250k to get Cotric off their books to anyone.

Can’t stand the bloke. Has the 2nd most punchable head in footy after Moylan

Add "King Gutho" and "Mitchy baby" to that list

Moses is #1. My mistake

A lot of fuss over the third best Storm hooker over last few years. Less focus on this dummy and more on the role of managers giving a heads up to clubs on how to handle( wine, dine etc) a particular player if means a a nice paper bag for them (the manager).

The Brandon Smith Interview in the Last 24 hours has spelled out just how professional and detailed the Roosters recruitment process.

Thats the template there Wests Tigers Management

Lets learn from the best and stop bungling the JAC and TPJs that somehow slip from out fingers.

Mow for a genuine Marquee

For the right remuneration during and after one’s career, one can be full of praises to the appropriate person and/or club. Can something be done? Maybe. Will it? No

Assuming wing for the eels with no fergo and sivo to miss start of the season

Does anyone know what the NRL policy is for 2022 for when a club's top 30 players need to be all signed for the season (i.e. 29 by season start & 30 by 30 June)? And can NSW Cup players be added to the squad after 30 June like this year?

I mean if it is for the "benefit" of the manager to steer a player in a certain direction a player may not be aware that his likes / dislikes have been leaked. Credit to Rorters for planning the wooing of Smith but it always helps to have a leg up.

Why’s everyone complaining?

They lost friend and cordner this year… they’re under the cap..

Yeah, when you consider those losses you'd like to think that they're under the cap. And then you look at the rest of their squad being littered with Origin players and internationals and you start to realise there is no way in hell that they're under the cap. Sure, they lost a few key players but that doesn't account for the fact that nearly every single player in their starting 13 is a rep level player. Can't believe there are people actually trying to vouch for the Roosters being under the cap just because they lost a few players.

The NRL clearly isn't interested in a level playing field. For them to land Smith and fit him in with their current squad is beyond ludicrous.

Why? They just lost Friend, Cornder, and the Morris twins.

Payne Haas will be there as well sooner or later to replace JWH.
