Thank God that hartigan flop is gone.
Yay 4 sheens

So bizarre. Hartigan does the review. Expect Maguire to be axed, instead he gets the axe, and we snag two desirable players. The question has to be asked - was he the problem.

He did some pretty amazing trades starting the building and removing deadwood

Well he removed himself so I suppose you are correct

Been saying it for a while. Everyone in league circles knows it’s Hartigan and Pascoe.

New team fronting managers and players is Madge and sheens. It’s a big change from a credibility perspective.

Hopefully Pascoe moves on mid year

No Pascoe is a good GM he is a smart guy and has done a good job with the COE and corporates. Getting Sheens is the game breaker he knows agents, club GMs and other coaches. He gets things done easily so Madge can coach.

Sydney morning herald saying melbourne offering us brandon smith for stefano as a swap

Thanks but no thanks. Stefano is a future top tiered prop of the game. Him and Haas will dominate.

BSmith I’d bargain would do the same but we already got Simpkin, Rua for future who both sound like great prospects and Koro and Liddle in the mix as well.

What's especially pleasing about the Api and Papali'i signings is they were barely played out in the media. This announcement of us signing Api would come as a shock to a lot of NRL fans who are out of the loop... Our efficient negotiating of late is completely opposite to how long and drawn out our deals were even just a couple months ago

I've got a feeling that in time we'll be looking at Junior Tupou as just as big a signing.

Certainly looks the goods from the junior footy vids... Hopefully it translates to FG.

Any links to the vids? Can’t find anywhere

I think there's a couple videos of him scoring some impressive tries around the third page of the Tupou signing thread

Just so long as we haven’t paid overs🤞What do you think is API’s market value? $700 I’m guessing…..

Apparently it's 650k per year

Oh great. If Stefano has an ordinary season next year this line is going to be trotted out in every thread just like the JAC/Talau/Nofa swap does.

Was "flatly regected" by Sheens when Melbourne suggested Stefano. Had to be a PR stunt or something from the storm because no-one in their right mind would consider that for a second.

Richio thinks Panthers have told api to go to parra.

Well he hates the tigers so no surprise there

Penrith will want him off the books. Where he goes will be of little concern, just that he goes. Someone posted earlier that he likes Maguire, so we will see how much!

I guess you got your answer.

It was only a 1 year deal before he heads off to the Roosters.

I admire all the hard work put in by the recruitment team to improve the roster. As I have stated ad nauseum, all this will not make one iota of difference until Maguire is challenged to change his five hit ups and a bomb gameplan. Let's see the powers to be shake up the way we play as well.

His game plan is simple and will only work if ALL the players buy in. That didnt happen last year and the coach was struggling to cover all aspect of his job. The club has now placed better people around him and reduced his role to ease the pressure on him.

Only good things to come from Maguire this season. Sheens wont cop players not buying in and Maguire now has support and depth to remove those from the weekly team.

You may need to find another hook to hang your hat on. I can see Maguires game plan working well for us this season.

It's up to Maguire to get the players to "buy into his style". That is called leadership. Passing the responsibility of leadership up the line would would not be tolerated in my workplace.

He wont be passing that responsibility up the line.

Sheens has and will continue to change the attitude of the entire team and some of his decision have already hinted to who Maguire thought wasnt buying in to his system.

Should be good to watch. Players playing with passion again. I expect many players to improve out of sight this season now that they have had a year or two under coach Maguire.

It is interesting that someone had to be brought in over the top of Maguire to effect attitudinal change. That says it all really.

Your relentless sniping at Maguire being retained, when you so obviously and adamantly tried to convince us all he was dead meat, is quite embarrassing now. You don't need to keep harping on with that rubbish.

You went all out on a particular outcome on here, and you seem to feel like you have to keep digging the same hole to win back kudos or save face when it didn't happen. Why bother? We are all just offering opinions, mate.

Sometimes we're right but mostly, me included, we're not. It doesn't matter.

I am surprised you have the audacity to re-emerge on this forum after the Junior Tupou thread. For someone who has a history of playing the person not the issue, you sure do like to run to the mods when things don't go your way.

This is a forum, a two way sounding board. As long as the posts are respectful and don't breach rules, members are allowed to post. If you don't like what I post, ignore it. I won't be offended.
