I admire all the hard work put in by the recruitment team to improve the roster. As I have stated ad nauseum, all this will not make one iota of difference until Maguire is challenged to change his five hit ups and a bomb gameplan. Let's see the powers to be shake up the way we play as well.
His game plan is simple and will only work if ALL the players buy in. That didnt happen last year and the coach was struggling to cover all aspect of his job. The club has now placed better people around him and reduced his role to ease the pressure on him.
Only good things to come from Maguire this season. Sheens wont cop players not buying in and Maguire now has support and depth to remove those from the weekly team.
You may need to find another hook to hang your hat on. I can see Maguires game plan working well for us this season.
It's up to Maguire to get the players to "buy into his style". That is called leadership. Passing the responsibility of leadership up the line would would not be tolerated in my workplace.
He wont be passing that responsibility up the line.
Sheens has and will continue to change the attitude of the entire team and some of his decision have already hinted to who Maguire thought wasnt buying in to his system.
Should be good to watch. Players playing with passion again. I expect many players to improve out of sight this season now that they have had a year or two under coach Maguire.
It is interesting that someone had to be brought in over the top of Maguire to effect attitudinal change. That says it all really.
Your relentless sniping at Maguire being retained, when you so obviously and adamantly tried to convince us all he was dead meat, is quite embarrassing now. You don't need to keep harping on with that rubbish.
You went all out on a particular outcome on here, and you seem to feel like you have to keep digging the same hole to win back kudos or save face when it didn't happen. Why bother? We are all just offering opinions, mate.
Sometimes we're right but mostly, me included, we're not. It doesn't matter.
