Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

What about getting Jackson Hastings with conditions in his contract favourable to the club (in relation to his attitude) plus the new Tigers are emphasising on that names don’t matter all players are equal which could work for both parties.

We could get him on the cheap and for once Manly can pay part of his wage since they are so desperate to get rid of him

What do you guys think?

Nope doesn't fit the 'culture' :roll

but then again, if Manly agree to paying 95% of his wage…he'd be a good backup to Liddle....

Haven’t seen much of Oliver Gildart, but heard Joel Moon is eyeing out a return back to the NRL. He just might be what we need a strong and skillfull centre with speed. He used to play for the broncos and warriors then moved to england.

On Hastings, from what I've seen of him he has talent. Been at the roosters and now Manly and it's funny that a talented kid ends up in fights with the likes of DCE at Manly and The Rorters. DCE has no morals, that was shown with the Titans deal. He presents himself well spoken but from what i see, not know, I would hate to spend a moment talking to him. Kinda person i would very much dislike captian or knot. I'm thinking it might be more the 2 clubs he has been at and the type of player he has had to play with that has caused his problems. I would give him a go. Strict terms though.

As far as Trent Barrett's comments on Hastings goes. I think he himself might have had that pretty boy, I'm the best attitude when Brown decided to slap it out of him on the sideline a few years back. Brown still towers over him respect wise.

Gildart is very good young center who would improve out of sight in the NRL. He is deceptively strong and very quick….would not take him much on salary to come over as he would only be on about £50k max in the Super League.

Wasn't a fan of moon when he was last in NRL. Thought he was over rated

Is it true? Matt Moylan approached the Tigers when he wanted to leave the Panthers and we knocked him back

Apparently so only wanted to come here are a 5/8,but Ivan had already signed Grub.

I've heard Cronulla promised Moylan the 5/8 spot but played him at fullback and he wasn't happy.
I think they will now play him at 5/8 even though he is better suited to fullback. They have got themselves into a pickle there.

Glad we didn't sign him - too precious and he ain't that good!

Did you hear what Paul Kent said tonight about Hastings he said Shaun Lane was rooming with Hastings and backs Hastings in his statement of what happened and other players have text Hastings offering there support two sides to the story

On field is no problem. I think it's the off seasons, the week to week training.. the hard work required to make it in NRL that a lot of Poms struggle with

Would not surprise… he is the little fish. Need to protect DCE as he is the centre or part of the salary cap breaches.... piss him off could open a can of worms for the club! I think the senior officials will do as he wants to keep him quiet! Just a guess.

I guess that Euan Aitken at 182 and 93 kg would also find it hard.

Extra 11kgs makes a big difference , your talking over 10% extra weight

I've never seen Gildart , but as someone else said , been a long time since an ESL back has looked even remotely good an a consistent basis

Widdup is the last one that stands out

I haven't seen anything of Gildart either, but I do agree, having taken a look at him this week, he's a little on the small side for your typical NRL centre. Your point is well made, less about height and more about weight.

Gildart honestly looks very much a fullback in terms of body type. But I'll let the coaches figure that out.

If the news is true, fairly outside-of-box thinking from WT.
