Yep wouldn't want the cat Matterson back here. We couldn't guarantee him that training won't run over the allotted time. Weak maggot is a good fit as a Parra player.

If all players ripped in like Matterson did while at WTs I would be happy for them to complain about training running overtime.

Remember how many times Maguire told everyone who would listen how well the team trained? Then we would go out take a hammering.

I'd think our halves would like a big forward like Matterson protecting them in defence.

Matterson "ripped in"? That's not what I would call it when someone gets their blouse in a knot, kicks stones and moped about and basically holds a club to ransom until they kick his arse to the exit.
Sure he had a handful of games where he did some good things but I can't recall him doing anything much in defence and being a physical minder for the halves.
Plus once Packer and then Kaufusi bounced his head like a squash ball IMO since then he's been badly damaged goods. No thanks.

Yes he did. I recall a solo try where he beat four perhaps five players to score on a tough inside run. Matterson has courage on-field where it counts.

Apart from that 1 run vs the Roosters which is vivid, what other standout memories do you have of him?
I think he goes missing in games where it is blood and thunder up the guts TBH. Not someone who steps up a notch ala Waerea-Hargreaves when it gets willing.

Lucky we held firm on Luciano and didn’t grant him an early release. Our back row stocks are low as it is. Hopefully one of the young guns takes this opportunity. I’m just unsure on who will

I don't want peachey used as a tackling forward, he's not there for that, we need solid backrowers for the softening up period and peach to come on as an impact loosey or fill in halves.
I didn't think Garner was going to get to much time on the paddock but now with Blore out he'll be needed.

Me neither, I want to see peach come in when the forwards are getting tired and use his skill in the middle. I’ve never really rated Garner but I would be more than happy for him to change my mind

Peachey is a good lock, roams in defence and attack. He's not the answer when it comes to a tackling machine, physical-impact type player. We will benefit most from Tyrone's attacking flexibility more than his defensive assets.

Late in the season to being in a second rower outside our systems.

Chance there for a young fella to step up if their good enough

I really don't know if we have any systems🤣
Just Madge screaming.
Wouldn't be too hard for someone to fill in. Run hard and tackle hard and often.

Didn’t he refuse to train at one point and run to HR/ management? Hardly ripping in . I’m sure his biceps looked good for Hillsong though !

Matto on the flex and Scomo making his jocks heavy.

Is this just us fans tuning into different games? I.e. you see an average game and I see a good one.

Either way I recall games where Matterson was best on field or top 3 and one or two games where Matterson won it for us.
Don't want him ofcourse. For 350k he was a really good signing, 550k he would be a keeper and 750k+ forget it! I am glad he is making good money and I am glad Parra is paying silly overs for him. Parra is going to have a cap crunch soon and Matterson, Gutherson, Moses etc are going to make life very difficult for Brad Arthur. ... We already have capitalized on this with Pappaii lets see who else we can get.

Been missing at training a bit this pre season as well is the word…

He’s unwanted at Parra after this season, but really, why would you wanna? Remember when the club released Corey Thompson, he came out and opened his big mouth cos he still had an ax to grind? Stuff him. Between his diva personality and his concussions, I think he’ll struggle to get a decent sized contract. Clubs will probably low ball him.

I wouldn’t go near Matto and I doubt many clubs would. He’s one head knock away from retirement and no one wants that risk on their books.

I didn’t realise CJ Mundine is now with the club until recently. He had massive wraps on him in SG Ball. Will be interesting to see how he comes back from injury in Flegg. Could be a really good signing.

Are we still hunting Nanai from North Queensland? He could be a good replacement for Kelma even though we shouldn't have let him go but hey what can ya do

Despite his short exposure in the top flight, Nanai is seen as one of the most talented emerging forwards in the competition, having gained reported interest from the Tigers in recent months.

It is understood that the Concord club have looked toward Nanai as a potential replacement for the departing Luciano Leilua, who will venture to Townsville at the end of this year.
Where's this from? I read an article today saying that Dolphins want Nanai but cowboys are confident in keeping him and Luki
