We're professional and there are important matters to be dealt with at the Club. SImple, you allow things to drift or you get back and get on top of them.

So he should have dumped the Kiwis mid series? Ivan says hi by the way.

And so dose Mal and we know he was not much of an NRL coach. At that level, the captain should be able to run the team.

If we'd signed Bennett I doubt he would have left England

Because he wouldn't be available until 2020, which makes it a completely different scenario.

If Brooks has agree to a new contract, the club should release that information now, not wait until Maguire returns. Supporters after due for some positive news.

Paws, your predisposition to disliking Maguire is showing.

Haven't we just announced our new coach, I thought that was some positive news?

The other positive new was that a new forward addition to our team would be announced at around the time of Maguire's return, probably November 14.

Maguire should be back in Australia tending to his club.

Ever heard of Skype and mobile phones…technology these days..rather he stayed in Taupau's ear..

I'd rather he be in ears of TPJ, Lodge and the Bronco's winger.

As for modern tech, the personal touch is always best however I'm always open to hearing about your experience with skype and other devices

looks like your going alone on this one Paws.
I'm a little shocked one of our fans is rallying for our new coach to break ties and commitments in his career because it might satisfy a few fans.

I for one am excited to see him coach them and hope they do well in the next 2 games and his relationship between his roster is strong.
Look at it this way, He is as you said being there in person to 17 future tigers prospects, Its a good thing for our club for him to have first hand coach player relationship with the best Kiwi players in our game.

Paws the only terms we would have accepted had him here next year. They are coaching against each other, in England. I think it is the closest scenario imaginable.

Jesus he was committed to NZ before he put pen to paper with us, at least he stands his ground. And doesn’t run for cover, like the last imposter.

Maguire was on 9 news saying how grateful he was for Wests Tigers giving him the opportunity to resume his NRL career…He stated he was up front with his current commitment to the NZRL to which Wests Tigers management had absolutely no concerns about him completing that role..

If it's good enough for them It's good enough for me..

Give him his go. I'm just glad he's happy to be our coach and will commence soon. Go Wests Tigers!

Luke Brooks is named in our NRL squad for next year, the number currently standing at 28.

Here is the exact wording from Wests Tigers "Currently, Wests Tigers have 28 players SIGNED in the Top 30 squad for season 2019, with the full squad to return to pre-season training on November 15."

Given that they say these players are SIGNED, I wouldn't worry too much. I'll just wait for Maguire to start for the announcement.

Luke Brooks is SIGNED for 2019…with the WT....so your post is factually correct....what we want is for him to be signed for 2020+

I'm on record preferring Bennett and I've detailed the reasons why. I have concerns about Maguire but don't dislike him. I will reserve judgement and he may surprise, which I hope he does. I do wish he were back at WT HQ right now.

Maguire is a winner and will enforce the discipline we need - no more close enough is good enough!
Great times ahead, the best coach and a return to suburban grounds next year - Leichhardt, Campbelltown, WSS … throw away the binoculars.

I would be offering cook a 5 year 5m deal. Unlikely he leaves Souths but money talks.
We have a few players coming off contract next year if we have to go another direction at halfback that’s okay.

Asking for $800k apparently.

Give it to him now. I would have paid more.

Five year deals tend to cause clubs a heap of grief. Even the best players should be three year deals as in the NRL three years is a very long time

And we think our recruitment is poor - this guy has been added to the rorters top 30 squad

If we are going to throw huge money around for Brooks or Johnson you may as well target players that deserve that money.

Brooks should be signed but we are kidding if he is worth more than 700k. If we have to pay more I’d walk away.
