Cartwright might be ok on, say, a 1 year deal at a low price with an option in the club's favour for an extended term and an upgrade if he performs well enough. He's still fairly young, can play several positions and might be a valuable backup. I can recall his early form at Penrith being very good. Bit of a gamble but maybe one worth taking at the right price.

we have leaked a ridiculous amount of points this year. Cartwright has never looked like he's wanted to make a tackle his whole life. despite on his day being a brilliant attacking player, attacking spark is not what we need

Harry would be able to get a lot more money at other clubs compared to WT if he doesn’t stay at Melbourne. Wouldn’t surprise me if he went to titans

Titans wouldn't have the cap - more likely Brisbane. Canterbury would have the money but i don't think he would go there.

They’ve still got money. They’ve signed some big names but they’ve also released quite a few guys who were on big money, Cartwright being the latest. Just like us they’ve got a heap of duds on huge money and they’re slowly getting rid of them

Cartwright was quoted by several different media organisations as being on $450K

They also released Shannon boyd as well along with a few others. They’ve got some cash left

They signed Tino from the storm and Ese Ese not bottom dollar players either, Brimson got an upgrade, re-signed Proctor, Sami, Jolliffe, Don and signed Thompson, plus Wallace is on big dollars as well

ur forgetting the big man FIFITA

No mate I mentioned the 2 million plus men (Fifita, Taylor) in an earlier reply, those names were as well as those 2

Also if released part of his salary obligations will still be on the cap.

He pushed for the move I believe.

I doubt he would of left for nothing.
Anything he is paid counts to the cap.

He moved to Sydney months ago, it was his choice. Essentially he quit so I doubt titans pay him anything next season.

Apparently Peta Hiku has been offered a one contract by the Worries on less money than this year he's quite a good centre

We don't need anymore Centres - IMO
Douhli, BJ, Mbye, Momo, Talau, Hoffman, Cini, Kei etc Staggs 😉

Agree. We need specialist wingers, apart from Nofa every other outside back is a centre. AJ is supposedly a centre as well.

The Mole: Wendell Sailor rips Dragons over son Tristan's axing
By The Mole

NRL legend Wendell Sailor has slammed the Dragons after his son Tristan was told he was not part of the club's plans for next year. A local junior who looked good when he made his top grade debut last season, Sailor was barely given a chance in 2020, according to his famous dad. "He was told by the club that if he had a big off-season, he would be in the mix this year but he never got any game time," the former Test star told Wide World of Sports. "He got two games off the bench and was expected to pull off the miracle play with limited game time. "Now they say he is not wanted - my wife and I are very disappointed that he never got the opportunity to show what he's got on the field.

"He's done everything right all year. He couldn't even come to my mum's funeral because he was in the bubble but he accepted that and now they cut him."Hopefully he can find another club because he is a good young player with something to offer.

Sorry Wendell , but if your son can't crack it at the Saints he probably isn't going to make it as a permanent NRL squad player

Losing Cartwright, Boyd, Arrow, James, Peats who are all on big money plus a couple other cheaper guys are on the way out. I don’t think they’ve got millions sitting around but they’ll have enough to offer Smith/Grant a decent contract for next season which will get bigger in 2022.

They've lost those guys but signed Fifita, Tino, Esese, Fotuakia. That's over 2.5 million on 3 props and a back rower.

Throw in Taylor on a million, upgrading Sami and a few others and they dont really have much money left as they've already spent it.

I wonder if they've spent more than the NRL is providing this year?

Great attacking centre but has always been a terrible defender. Should fit in quite well ?

Jeez fellas we are being mentioned as a destination for some quality unsigned players, and a few crap ones too.
Herbert, Afoa, Paasi and Papali'i, all of which would be good, Herbert and Afoa would be exceptional.
Sailor, could potentially be good, but we already have enough CC and untested players, besides brings a lot of baggage with him, his dad, which we don't need.
Rapanna, traditionally 31 year old wingers aren't always a good signing, especially when its done to hopefully fire up an under performing previous signing, Joey L.
Moylan, FFS, when will this nonsense stop. Its not bad enough that this club went after him before and he flatly turned us down, wouldn't even take a meeting. Moylan is a obscenely over rated player, injuries, lifestyle and relationships with team mates rumors aside, he can't bust a tackle, has average defence, has no speed, has a below par kicking game, is a poor trainer will pass the ball to avoid a tackle, admittedly he can pass the ball.

My gut and our clubs track record tell me the Moylan one is true, and that is just today's rumors, can't wait for tomorrows.

Don’t worry to much about the quality players we don’t sign them and they don’t sign with us . So just stick to the over rated players mentioned

Well by all reports they’re targeting some pretty decent players. I could see how they’ve got cash left, they had a lot of guys on crazy money.

Reported figures are Peats $600k, Cartwright $600k Boyd $600k, James $700k. Add in Jai Arrow and the others and it’s a lot of money. Would only think they’ve got room for once more decently paid player though.

And Wendall going off at Saints puts the kid in the high maintenance bucket. His involvement for mine makes it even harder for a new club to take a chance on the kid.

Pass. We have already had one big mouth parent call in the media when he feels his sons have been wronged. Maybe he can join Manly with Siro & Hopa
