Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

JAC not coming. We have an unprofessional administration (maybe the worst in the league in terms of stature) and a hard ass coach, and a bad roster thats not top eight material. The dogs despite being poor for a while, have success ingrained, with deep pockets, some good purchasers, and Barrett's a nice guy. Looking at all the teams in the league we are probably last in terms of where people want to go. Sad but true. Need a new CEO, board, and either back the coach and pay overs for juniors or get a more liked coach, or just pray for another 2005 perfect storm.

Source please.....
Or is it another soapbox announcement?

JAC’s signature alongside Tamou’s would go along way to bringing respect back to our organisation.

If we miss JAC, and with not much else available on the transfer market, I’d have to agree with much of what you’ve said.

Serious consideration will be given to renewing my membership under this administration if we don’t sign JAC.

Really? You'd dump your membership if WT don't sign a winger?? You really belive that signing a winger will turn the fortunes of the club around?

The best part of $1600 came out of my savings to renew my 2xPlatinum memberships for 2021. And, I couldn't give a rats if we sign JAC. He is NOT a fullback. He IS a winger. I am looking forward to other signing announcements that will strengthen the squad. I'm over JAC.

Sorry but he is more than a winger. He’s a genuine X factor player who is world class. Iron sharpens iron. Signings like this attract sponsors and other players.

Definitely dumping if he does not sign or the club turn things around I’ve had enough.

That's just ridiculously stupid.

You have to question if some of these posters are even Wests Tigers supporters. More like Daily Telegraph hacks having a sook for being called hacks.

I’m a lifelong supporter but cannot completely support our leadership /admin team,

I’m seeing some improvement but we’re still not where we need to be. Some things we still need addressed

(If we miss JAC) why can’t we attract true marquee talent?
I know we’re contractually bound to multiple home grounds but seriously, find a way
Why did we just fold on the Matterson contract? Look at Storm and JAC that’s how it’s done
Why didn’t we know Cleary wanted to coach his son when we signed him?
Huge difference between JAC and doesn’t Matter son.
JAC requested a a release, was told no yet continued to give 100% to the Storm. Matterson sulked and whined to anyone who would listen about how the horrible club made him train a few minutes overtime
Keeping the Princess would have been disastrous, glad he is gone & more so that he didn’t get to the grand final.
As for Cleary, there was a lot we didn’t know because the guy is a weasel and was never honest with the club.
Neither of these incidents were a reflection of the club, they were a reflection of selfish individuals without principles.

I’m now not fused at losing matterson and think they showed wisdom in their decision.

But these individuals were appointed by the front office, look I’ll give them some rope and hope they can turn it around but I’m running out of patience, it’s a long drive home when we lose to warriors/panthers/Souths etc etc

okay trying to get the thread back on track

just a idea i have
i wonder if we should indulge in another player swap this year, involving billy walters, i cant see where walters fits in the squad this year ( behind simpkin and liddle in hooking role, and possibly Madden and Doueihi in the halves ) , so i think a player swap would be really beneficial for him

im not entirelly sure who we could swap for, maybe a young gun forward

All this talk about Jac and fullback. Had there been and discussion about lock? We are really missijg something there. A ball playing forward who can churn out big numbers as well. Not sure whats put there too be honest.

absolutely it's a massive issue for us. if there's anything this year taught us it's that the Radley's and Murray's of the league are the ideal 13 moving forward, which means in order for us to be in the mix, Twal has to go back to the front row rotation.

McIntyre demonstrated plenty of defensive ability, but there are questions surrounding his ball playing and footy IQ. the young bloke from Westfields looks a prospect there, but in the immediate future I'm not entirely sure who we can chase. I'm a fan of Billy Magoulias, but I'm unsure if he's the answer. anyone aware of who we could go after?

The Block of Cheese for me.

He wants to play 9.

What he wants and what I want are 2 different things.
I've still got a lot of faith in Liddle coming through with the goods, but if he really wants to play 9, then come on down.

I've said a few times, I think Talau could be coached into a good ball playing lock.

Played five eighth growing up. Is the same size if not bigger thank Radley and Murray. Apparently loves hard work.

Hes Need a big preseason on defence.

alot of tim sheens on this forum, lets play brooks at fullback as well

I'm definately no Sheenuis 😁, but do think we need to coach and mould our own talent, from within, to find the strongest team balance.

This forum is obsessed with buying in talent. Which is not sustainable and is the reason we are in our mess.

If we need a ball playing lock, why shouldn't we look at our current squad first?

I'll stand up again for @trippa101, assuming they are a legitimate WT supporter, which I think they are. Sometimes I feel pessimistic about the WT, with our history I think that's completely understandable.

The comment even had some thoughts on how to fix the situation (which is of course incredibly hard and complex to fix, as we only have some of the important information, not all of it, and I actually believe there is no easy fix).

So I hope you hang around, people don't always agree, and it's not always a good thing to say everything you think (I'm not saying you did that mate, but I have in the past).

Trouble is - he is still tripping.
