It will be out soon enough, Daine Laurie from the Panthers signing from 2022.

how good. any chance of getting him for 2021?

Always a chance, on very little at Panthers next year & they want to clear space & $$ to retain others

That's huge! He's a really highly rated fullback/five-eighth.

A north coast NSW Illuka junior. I found this short clip.

43 seconds..I'm sold

how about 5 minutes

I'm now excited re Daine Laurie.
After watching the video from his Panthers jersey presentation, it looks like he is a real nice bloke with strong family ties for support.
I feel we are on an exciting winner with Daine's signing.

I felt the same, looks like a genuine kid and a genuine naturally talented footballer, looking forward to following his development.
Great signing

Is he signed as a development player?

Throw the money at Crichton! What a game.

Completely agree imo he was close to best on field

Agree, and there are some on here who don't rate him, with words like Plodder, we can do better, I am lost for words

Zero tackle reporting Tigers are interested in Magoulis https://www.zerotackle.com/two-nrl-clubs-targeting-highly-rated-shark-83883/

God no. He is exactly the type of player we need to steer clear of. WOuld rather have had ET go around again.

NMN

Dragons will get him which I am very pleased about.

For sure, he’s a typical Dragons signing. Hopefully we’ll get Crichton instead ?

Is that officially announced on the Wests Tigers website..

have to admit this signed for 2022 gets a bit tedious.....this whole sign on for the year after next is ridiculous

A trade window would solve this. Players can only sign contracts in the window. If they want to move clubs, it must be done in these periods. Players can only sign for the following season in trade window 2 or 3.

Trade Window 1: First two weeks of pre-season (November 1 - 14)
Trade Window 2: One week period following the first trial
Trade Window 3: One week period halfway through the season

He has signed for 2022 at this stage not 2021

FWIW

Jimmy Smith said so on SEN radio this afternoon . He also said JAC would be staying in Melbourne for another year .

What’s going on with Edene Gebbie? Saw someone a few weeks ago on here saying he’s agreed to terms with us. Haven’t heard anything else since

100% agree. They should also introduce a draft.

I wonder if the club will sign anymore development players with it being confirmed you can sign the regular 6 development players for next season

Honestly I think 3 is a good number. There’s always the risk the development players don’t kick on and then they’re stuck in your top 30 for a season. Would only sign them if you’re pretty confident they’ll become first graders I reckon

Development players aren't part of the Top 30.

For the season after I mean, like how we’ve now got limited spots in our 30 because of the 4 guys moving up who most likely won’t even play first grade

Depends how the contracts are written ..at the end of the development stage they are generally promoted to the NRL squad the following year..

One thing I learn't is a player from outside your system can be on a two year development contract before moving into the top 30..there is also no age limit so mature aged players can be on development contracts

Pretty sure storms contract would come first so he gets a pay increase there and commands a million a season come 2022, well played
