Would anybody else be interested in bringing Elijah Taylor back for another year or 2?

I still think we need a lock and think the new rules would really suit his style of play. Consumate professional, would be low $$$

I'm not sold on Twal and Joe O as locks.

No thank you

Just a thought, I always thought we were better around the ruck when he was on.

Who is your lock next year?

I would be looking at Joe O. Taylor played his best football when he first came across playing as a link man pushing Brooks and Moses wider of the ruck. He doesn't fit into the type of lock that Madge seems to rely on.

Hopefully Joe O is the answer. Is he much of a ball player?
I was hoping Sam Mac would get first crack this year.
I don't think twal is the answer.

Twal is not the answer, neither was Sam Mac. Madge likes the big body locks. I posted earlier that as a lock I would let him rove and do some of the dirty work in the middle but give him the freedom to run a little wider running off the halves as well.

Definitely not twal. I'm not sure that a big bodied lock is the way the game is headed. Smaller, quicker locks around the ruck seem to be the way it's heading with the new rules. Cameron Murray, Cam McInnes, even harry grant was effective in short stints this year when liddle was on the field.

Will be interesting to see what Madge does.

Madge likes the big bodies, I am still to see he adapt his game plans to suit different players or rules. I expect him to go with a big body lock.

He probably will. I'm just not sure if the game is headed that way.

Hopefully he can adjust and have a plan B if required. He needs to adapt his game plans a bit more when his plan A isn't working.

I think that is his biggest weakness as a coach.

It will be interesting how players adapt to the new rules after an offseason to prepare for the quicker play and chance to adjust fitness levels.

Never any half time adjustments. Very regimented, stick to the original plan. Even when the original plan isn't working

To me he seems like a coach that needs his squad to adjust to suit his style and not a coach who adjust his style to suit his squad.

Agree 100%, Twal is not an NRL standard lock, put him in the prop rotation

Yep. Starting prop only. He is a work horse, with limited impact and average lateral movement.

He and tamou should start, musgrove/mikalele/stefano etc bench impact

Tamou and Twal have similarities so I wouldn't have a problem splitting them but starting both is probably the right choice for early in the season.

They are very similar, which I like in early season games. Strong runners, find their fronts and high tackle %. Would like to see us get in the grind early and not beat ourselves.

Alioai was a stronger runner but had more errors and would gas out very quickly. Would get caught out around the ruck.

Yeah I would start them in the early rounds, later in the season as his fitness improves I'd like to see how Musgrove handles starting with either Twal or Tamou moving back to the bench.

Musgrove was good is limited time last year. Really bent the line and rarely got dominated. Fingers crossed for an extension and injury free year.

Injury free will make a huge difference to our side

Agreed. The best coaches find a way to use every players best assets. Not suppress them to suit a plan.

If he can implement a little of that, it will take a lot of the media pressure off and create happier players.

I don't mind his ruthless streak and hard training etc, but players still need to be able to use their strengths. It's up to the coach to work out a game plan to allow them to.

Yeah, we need to send a message we are backing the coach. And have some stability finally.

I have found that players who have bought into Madge's ways have really improved.
He can definitely develop players, I just feel he may need to loosen the reins away from the structure a little.

The game still needs to be fun for the players, not a chore. Just got to find that balance.

Twals best attribute is his motor and the minutes he can play, in the prop rotation some of that gets lose. He’ll still get through a good amount of work but having him play 60+ minutes really helps our other props like Mikaele and Stefano who are bigger have more impact in shorter bursts.

Ideally Joffa can play 60+ mins at lock and one of our props can fill that role in the remaining minutes, maybe Twal but he’d also be good sharing half a game with Tamou.

Getting our forward rotation figured out as early as possible will be important

Alioai was a stronger runner but had more errors and would gas out very quickly. Would get caught out around the ruck.

Yeah I would start them in the early rounds, later in the season as his fitness improves I'd like to see how Musgrove handles starting with either Twal or Tamou moving back to the bench.

Musgrove was good is limited time last year. Really bent the line and rarely got dominated. Fingers crossed for an extension and injury free year.

We lost the R20 Parra game after he went off. He never gets dominated. Super underrated player.

I don’t think twal is the answer.

I honestly reckon if he didn’t have so many set backs he’d be one of the premier props in the comp right now

He was a gun at souffs

I like Musgrove.

I love Musgrove. He adds this grit to the squad that we have needed for a while. When he runs he runs he doesn't half ask it like mikaele or packer. Also, Stef Manu and Blore are both the same and I love that

Madge bagging is rediculous,he is one of the best coaches in the game.We had the worst roster in the game last year, and finished ahead of more fancied sides. We have over 2 mil in wasted salary cap that he got stuck with,. Get optomistic you miserable barstards and support your club,.If any player we think of signing reads your posts they would never sign,.
