Nice spot. I hope WT brand themselves as the place where all Samoans want to go, similar to the Canberra-England connection. Another good example are The Warriors. A lot of players choose them because people like Ruben Wiki and RTS are there. They feel they will be comfortable because the club is a good match for their upbringing.

Could get SBW to do some consulting/coaching/mentoring of forwards and Samoan crew. Similar to the what Tahu is doing with the backs and the indigenous crew.

Lol.. wiki
Stephen Crichton is a Samoan professional rugby league footballer who plays as a centre for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Crichton recently signed a contract with the Wests Tigers until the end of 2024. Wikipedia

.........after walking away from a lucrative hand shake deal with highly respected NRL coach Ivan Cleary.

Cleary was heard to be muttering, "whatever happened to honesty and integrity in contract negotiations"

Crichton was seen to be blowing kisses at his former coach as he boarded a chauffeured limousine to attend a nearby golf course for a round of golf with Wests Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis.

Not sure if SBW is the one you want around our boys. The guy that I have heard from multiple coaches as the best mentor for polynesian players is Sia Soliola. Im sure he will be wrapped up at Canberra post career but if he wants to get out of Canberra he is the guy.

Petro gets a fair wrap too, aswell as Lote

Hmmm lots of excitement generated on here because of a highly unsubstantiated rumour regarding us signing Crichton! I’m pretty sure POM would’ve mentioned something about it in his recent update if it had any legs. I think we’re all being duped again.

To be fair, Hooper only said that the club will consider making him an offer so nothing real happening at this stage. Pretty certain he will stay at Penrith anyway

Maybe it's at a delicate stage and POM doesn't want to ruin our chances of getting him

Hope Crighton signing is right, game changer if true.

Bloody oath.

If we add McInnes and Crichton it would arguably be the greatest off season we have ever had.

Management would be lauded.

Stephen Crighton and one of Brandon Smith or McInnes who could go to lock when Liddle or Simpkins comes on would be awesome

Yup re Brandon Smith.

That’s not happening . It’s been stated a million times he wants to go to NZ on the beach ie. Gold Coast /South East Queensland . Make a play sure , but you guys really need to get a reality check. It’s not always about money

Was literally just about to Say Petro. Met him in Adelaide randomly one night. Was a super nice guy and very well spoken for a bloke who got paid to pummel people.

I really doubt crichton will come to the tigers, i have his number found it while swooping through his insta ill give him a ring tell him to join hahaha.

100 to 1 to sign young Crichton but we will probably force Riff into paying a lot more than they wanted and put plenty of cap pressure on them

My point is the POM might not have mentioned anything because it seems to be in very early stages. Seems pretty unlikely to happen though

Yeah, haven’t met him but he comes across as a friendly giant - never heard anyone say anything bad about him.

Met him as a 15 year old and he went above and beyond to chat with me about footy and everything else for a fair while. Super well spoken guy and for a young kid it meant a lot and I’ll never forget it.

I’m sure Petro is a saint and a great mentor for men in general but not Polynesian let alone Samoan
