I don’t mind Hastings as I feel he’s a good replacement on Reynolds...however hell have too be happy with playing Reggie’s
Our depth spine would however be quite lethal
1.Laurie
6.Hastings
7.Madden
9.Simpkin

Its tricky for me. Would I prefer Hastings over Benji, Reynolds or Walters? Everyday and twice on Sundays.

But now we have settled (based on preseason) on a halves combination I am keen to see it develop and hopefully blossom into a finals combination.

Signing Hastings now would signal to Brooks+Doueihi that Madge doesn't thing one of them is good enough for us. After spending the entire off season working on the team i really don't see how signing someone like this would do anything but disrupt team harmony and shatter player confidence

So we don't sign anyone for the 3 vacant spots because someone might get upset?
Truth is Brooks had a terrible season last year and Douehi is unproven as a five eighth.
Hastings would put the torch on them (and Madden too hopefully).
Funny how no one cared about Mbye's feelings when we signed Daine Laurie?

If Mbye is fullback then the team still needs a utility on the bench,Liddle won’t play 80 minutes you wouldn’t think and Simpkin will start in NSW cup,Hastings at 14 is my guess....to play 9 when Liddle gets a rest,and can backup Douehi and Brooks

Would not surprise me one bit if Simpkin debuts off the bench round 1 V Cbra

Definitely remember him playing school footy as fullback, senior footy he's always played halves / dummy half

Im not excited by this and Im not against it. What it will do is throw a massive cat amongst the pigeons. A very capable half (Man of Steel) supposedly to run around in reggies behind Brooks and AD? If nothing else it puts pressure on AD & Brooks I guess which cant be a bad thing.

Having said that I would hate to see Madge chop and change the halves during the season to prove a point.

Im a bit nervous about this one.

I think Brooks is on the outer and Madge wants Doueihi at 6 and Hastings at 7.

Brooks will probably join the Roosters with his mate Tedesco and end up winning a comp or two - good deal for both parties

Hastings makes sense if we are letting Walters go to Broncos.

Also he can kick goals as well and has plenty NRL experience.

In round 1 with AD out will Mbye be full back and Goal Kicker?
I can see Laurie starting on the wing and Madden given a go at
5/8 and back up Goal Kicker.
This can all change if Hastings does sign on as he would solve 2 problems.

Talua and AJ might have to bide their time in a state cup along with Seyfarth, Chee Kam,
Packer, T Simpkins, Madden, Kel, Garner.

Starting pack seems to be Tamou, Liddle, Musgrove, LL Cool J, Blore, Big O
Bench Twal, Mikaele, Stefano and Simpkins (hooker)

Wow has everyone gone crazy? Two weeks ago Laurie was the best news on the forum.Then we had,- too short, too light,too inexeperienced, the same with Madden,and Simkin was too inexperienced, and Liddle won't last the distance.Then glowing reports from Madge and fellow teamates,about them and Brooks.

Now at the hint that Hastings may sign, people are calling them backup players. Is everyone taking angry pills.
