Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just imagine Reynolds playing for us instead of Souffs.

No Walker (hurts me to even mention that grubs name) to guide the team around, very poor defender, he has no running game with Souffs let alone with us. People say he has no back problems, I'm sure you would find out pretty quick if he was playing with us and no bodyguards around him. Crunch!!!!

The guy has a pretty good kicking game - he also has players around him that take advantage of that....do we?

Would not be half the player with us - personally think he is pretty ordinary player with a good kicking game.

It would be a Big NO from me.

So we keep a half with absolutely no kicking game
Damed if we do
Dated if we don't
Not having a decent kicking game has killed us for years

We need repeat sets
We need an 80% goal kicker
Someone who doesn't crumble under pressure
We need a kicker who can pin the opposition down their own end and not let them start sets 30 out from there own end on the 1st tackle
Maybe Doueihi can fill this void now

Reynolds
87% tackle efficiently this season
4 forced drop outs this season
358.4 kicking meters per game
50 running meters per game
0 try assists
0 line break assists
15 goals at 83.3%
1 offload
167 receipts
57 tackles 87.1% efficiently

Luke brooks
83 % tackle efficiently this season
1 forced drop out this season
221 kicking meters per game
81 running meters per game
5 try assists
2 line break assists
2 goals at 100%
4 Offloads
229 Receipts
67 Tackles 83% efficiently

You can see by those stats that Brooks seems to get more involved in the play
Maybe he is trying to hard himself and should try and organise the players around him more
Save himself for those key moments
Also his kicking meters is well down
Our forwards are having to work to hard to get up the other end of the field
Hopefully Doueihi can now help in this area
We need to start playing smart football
And for that we need smart players
I think Reynolds is one of those players

Anyone know which Sydney club is chasing Coates?

If we aren’t we are on serious drugs . There’s a huge void in at least 2 positions in our backline . I think potentially Hoffman and Kei will get there , but that wing spot is a headache .

I was against the Mansour signing but damn we would have needed him.

Israel Folau promotes hate speech. He promotes ideas which make people feel small and isolated from society. People see what he says then feels it is okay to persecute those who identify LBGTQ+. Would feel ill watching him play for my team.

That infamous post from 2 years ago is still up on his Instagram page. He stands by those words. Imagine how easy targets we'd be for guys like Paul Crawley. "Wests Tigers, do they hate gay people? They signed a guy who clearly stated he does. We can assume they are aligned with his beliefs."

hear me out. At least Matt Lodge admitted what he did was wrong. Israel Folau still stands by his belief that gay people belong in hell.

Wonder if we having a look at Folau lee just spoke about his situation and didn’t shut it down

I would take Folau in a heartbeat. Make it happen tigers.

Wouldn't go near that filth and he's spent so long out of rugby league there's no way he'd be that good transitioning back.

Filth? Really? Has he beaten or glassed his partner, gotten drunk and terrorised a family, raped a woman or smashed a guys head in? That’s the kind of person I would glass as filth and sadly there are, and has been, several of them running around in the NRL over the years.

I couldn’t agree more he isn’t filth, he’s following his religion to the letter of the law. Is that what most people think is ok including myself no probably not. But he’s entitled to his opinion if you dig around a couple of other religions and if most folks followed them by the letter of the law it would shock most people in society. I’d take Izzy but can understand why the club would distance themselves also.

Following your religion or principles or tenets or philosophy doesn't justify it. A lot of very cruel things have been done during the course of history in the name of a religious belief.

Freedom of speech these days is you agreeing with what the mainstream want you to agree with. I’m so confused why he is not allowed to have an opinion on homosexuality based on his religious beliefs. If you don’t agree with him don’t follow the religion he follows.

Let's not start this whole thing again. He's allowed an opinion. But as a club employee he's a brand ambassador and his opinions are damaging to the brand.

Theoretically, you could have a racist or sexist player spouting nonsense on social media and technically this is nothing more than a personal belief. But is a club going to retain the services of a self-declared racist or sexist?

Does anyone know if Oates actually has recovered properly from that bad leg injury he suffered against us last year? At the time they were concerned it could have been career ending.

I don't really mind that he thinks someone is going to an imaginary place. But I can see why his employer would have an issue.

I don't hate Reynolds but I also take notice of clubs that move on players who they no longer value ahead of those they choose to keep. He is a great front runner - but we need some one who can lead an underperforming team. The pressure will be just as much on him as it has been with Mybe and JRey and I don't think he has the mentality or will to manage what comes with the responsibility and the pay cheque he will collect to take on the job. His passion is with South's and he should stat there just like Sutton did. Happy to be proven wrong but we have been down this path before.

The thing is Souths want him.
They aren’t discarding him.
Like Sutton who played another 4yrs with them, they will only work on 1yr deals to manage the cap.

Do they? They have set their terms knowing they don't meet with what Reynolds wants and are not budging. To me that says take it or leave it.

They have a record of doing that with players accepting. They also tell players when they don’t want them they won’t get a contract offer at all. Souths have major cap constraints that changes year on year. He is an easy target for them.

Have any of you who want Izzy actually seen him play lately. He's a very ordinary conveyance these days.

Isn’t he playing French rugby?

I’m sure that would come down if he played nrl again and the contract would be tight protecting the club if it happened again.

There people in the nrl and WT that have done worse why doesn’t he get a second chance ?

Because it’s a business , and he’s no longer good enough , for a rewards vs cost ratio , to make the huge PR nightmare worth it . It’s not about morality , it’s about money .
Personally , I find his views hilarious , and I feel sorry for anyone who agrees with them , as that’s a lot of hate to carry around with you , but it infuriates many people . And no good PR consultant would advise their company to invest in the tigers .

We don’t give second chances to anyone that slanders homosexuals. Second chances only given to wife bashers, thugs, players that take drugs, destroy property and threaten people’s lives ...etc..

Forget about what he believes, he’s 32 and hasn’t played first grade in a decade

Wests Tigers fans: We’re sick of our club being a retirement home

Also Wests Tigers fans: Let’s sign a 32 year old has been

Who the hell do you think you are to call him filth?? Why are people who don't believe in a heaven and hell, getting so worked up about his comments anyway.

I'll call him whatever I like within reason thanks phil.

I bet you wouldn't have the guts to say it to his face.
