If the club is signing Naden I suggest they do it quickly before he plays first grade and Penrith remember how good he is. Wests desperately need him now.

Penrith aren't stupid, despite us supposedly agreeing to terms with naden Panthers still hold all the leverage. It'd cost a lot to get him here early.

Swap with Cini?

Cini is developing pretty damn good and offloading him now that he's shown his promise would be a bad move imo. I didn't expect him to start developing as a fullback but he's shown heaps of positives there.

We've some pretty useful wingers in our Flegg. Why spend a fortune when we can produce one or two with histories we are aware of?

Are any FG ready?

For next year yes, which is probably when we could get a new recruit anyway.

Who's ready for next season? I don't see anyone yet. Ogden maybe a chance if he can get his fitness right, but he's not really a winger. Scolari is too small to just get thrown in, he needs a season of nsw cup against the big boys to prove his fight is enough to hold his own against much bigger and stringer players.

I actually agree

He’s a go’er for sure

And if Cini is appealing to Penrith, that alone signals that's he one we should keep.

Agree, I don't think any are ready for next year. We can't afford to have another crop of Talau/Kepaoa learning in first grade.

Need to surround the young players with good experienced first graders.

At the moment we have 3 or 4 players that would not be in first grade at any other club.

Brent Naden's terms for 2022 & 23 have been agreed upon, Talk ongoing to see if there's a chance of getting him this year (made all more desperate now with AJ's injury).
Club has been talking to Isaac Lumelume's management about an early release to bolster this years backline, nothing eventuated as yet, not ruled out as a 2022 signing.

Semi Valemei (Raiders), Nene McDonald (Sharks) & Tevita Funa (Sea Eagles) have been mentioned as possible depth signings before June 30.

Not bad. I don't mind Funa as a player probably the best of the 3 mentioned there. Naden early would be really nice

Lumelume would be a brilliant signing

What position?

Who is he playing for now?

Brisbane Tigers

If you look at our Flegg n NSW cup teams i think the club is headed in the right direction.
Alot of young talent coming through the ranks. Would rather give them opportunities than buy old players. This year aint looking too good but the next few years if we can retain some of these young blokes we could become very dominant for a long time.

Hastings is an absolute tosser know some mates that used know him pretty well, let go from Roosters and Manly.
Don't think he will get 7 ahead of Brooks but could be ok as a utility

Sorry, but “the used to know him” doesn’t mean anything today, do you not think blokes can’t change? Do you not think he would understand his career would be in jeopardy with a 3rd club getting rid of him?

We need players to take us to the level of last game, every game, if this bloke can do it, then great.

We are not in a strong position to grab any game breaker players, until we start to get some consistency with our win/loss results, being more win than loss.

Naden ...?

Mental issues
Drug issues
Punchable face

Pretty good player though.

Debatable

I agree. Easy to look good off Cleary and Luai grubber kicks but i haven't seen anything too much outside of that besides putting his fingers to his lips being a smart arse and a turnstyle in defence. Reality is full strength Panthers team does not contain him. Apart from suspension Momers keeps him out.

There is the significant part of the season left. Also an off season. Players come on quickly. With our improved coaching and pathways, that should happen.

If we've learnt anything from Laurie, it is that our fullback must bring pace to the table. Tedesco and Papenhuyzen have it, Cini doesn't. I expect Cini to be overtaken by Dillon who has the x factor.

But Dillon's way too small to play wing. He's exclusively a fullback, and with Laurie looking like he's wrapped that spot up i can't see him getting much of a run. Dillon would definitely need a year in nsw cup at least, he would be the smallest player in the league if he ever does debut. Pap still has a bit more size to his frame, and had a few years in lower grades before coming of age. Sure Logen needs to fill out as he ages but he's a fast, short, skinny kid at the moment still.

Naden ...comes under Rejects

S2B - Respect your stance.

I am a lot diff than who I was back in the days.

If the club can frame a contract (Similar to BJ) that protects and incentivizes all parties, Then I'm willing to forward.

How did the BJ experience work out? Are we looking for similar success with Hastings?

Of course we are looking for success.

With the injury to Kepaoa, Penrith will be even more reluctant to release Naden. I can't imagine they have any desires of doing us a solid.

Plus Momo is out for a few weeks?

re Hastings.

Putting one on DCE's chin raises him quite high in my book

On field, well...... take him or leave him.... coin toss for me

Did DCE put one on Hastings' chin?

TBH I don't remember the details but I thought part of the issue was DCE was taken down and embarrassed over what transpired, but I could be totally wrong.......

Yea it was a penis measuring contest and DCE , wanted him gone over it . Not sure if it actually came to blows from memory . Barrett backed him , and lost his job a couple months later .
DCE is like the Manly Benji . Way too much say , for one player .

Absolutely not, he is our best FB substitute, we can give them Packer, and Mbye!

Swap with Cini is a big no.

The swap to make is Mbye. I still see people on this forum suggesting he's a centre option.

So let's trade our rep player for their reserve grader.
