The idea of recruitment is to try and leap frog other teams when you are rebuilding.

So far I think the Dogs (if they land B Smith) and the Broncos would be leap frogging us.

I am concerned that we are recruiting the wrong players.

We need Finucane types not TPJ’s

Broncos are one of the only teams worse than us and we’re raiding them. It’s classic Wests Tigers desperation

Where's the positivity?

We are essentially taking 2 of their best players.

Every team has a good player or 2, 3...

Even the wooden spooners.

TPJ is a beast.
Isaako definitely has what it takes.

They aren't the problem with the Broncos.

Their spine is trash and often changed.
(Isaako is more suited to wing or centre than fullback)

They have a few injuries (Staggs, Niu)
They went from a dud coach (Seibs) to a new one.

A lot of young players coming through finding their feet (Riki, Carrigan, etc)

1m milford is cooked.
No cap room.

I have liked BJ the last few weeks, would it be possible however to not take up the club option for X amount of money and renew him for one year on a smaller amount of money, or would that be risky business with player morale etc?

MAYBE BJ is chasing a deal for next year and will return to his garbage ways.

I think we need abort Jet / BJ
And chase a replacement.

The good thing is if we take the option he is off contract again next year so he will still be playing for an extension.

A few weeks ago I couldn’t wait to see the back of him but I’m willing to give him a bit more time to see if he can continue his form from the last few games.

We've seen what he offers.
I reckon we cut our losses and walk away

I already pointed out TPJ misses tackles a lot. 6 last week in another bad flogging. Surely we are not after those types of players. We can’t stop teams scoring.

He has offers all over the place.

We have to look at what's available and try our best with what we can get..

We can't just go out and sign Yeo, Martin, Haas and Fisher Harris because we need winners !

I think Brooks and Hastings in the halves and Doueihi will be a centre.

Pangai is a weapon.
Isaako can definitely do a job, reminds me of Simona.

We had Pangais brother Moses at the club briefly but he's been at a few clubs.

It'd be amazing if we could jag those two.

Tbf Rabbitohs didn’t evolve to another level until they signed Teo from the Broncos. This move / Pangai himself has a fair bit of similarities about it.

We only have one forward who can create things and that's Luciano, Pangai fills that void in our team with his passing and offloading ability plus we need another second rower

We also currently lack a winger and once Mbye goes a backup fullback is on the list too and Isaako covers all of that plus he's an excellent goal kicker with good footwork and pace

Isaako and TPJ have their weaknesses but you can certainly see why the club might be interested in them, they fill holes we have in our squad at the moment. We might not chase them hard out but it's good to see some thinking behind talking to players - doesn't seem like desperation to me at all.
