i'm not saying he was innocent and the only people that know what went down in the hotel room is the 3 of them, but 1 charge was found not guilty the rest they couldn't get unanimous decision on and the DPP decided not to take it to a third trial. not one charge could be unanimously agreed upon that he was guilty of what he was alleged to of done.

The DPP decided not to take it to a third trial in circumstances where they have a guideline in the following terms:

*Where two juries have been unable to agree upon a verdict, a retrial will be directed only in **exceptional circumstances**. Any such direction must be given by the Director or a Deputy Director.*

We need wingers and centres and second rowers a lot more than another spine player. He's good but I don't see him playing as well outside of the Melbourne system either.

He has a spot at 1 in my team - You say we have a FB, we can always do with a FB that is a lot better and Hynes eats Laurie at the moment. Laurie has much to learn and I can see another Brooks scenario coming up, 3 or 4 seasons we'll still be saying, "Oh! he will be a lot better next year." Laurie needs to go back to Reggies like Simpkin and learn his trade - e.g. organise the team line, learn to tackle, improve an almost non existent kicking game, chime into the backline and be part of it. When he can do all that he will be as good as Nico Hynes.

As far as playing outside the Melbourne system - he can do it himself (not like a Blair that had one job to do) but how did players like Kimmorley, Widdup and GI go after they left the Storm. Hynes makes his own breaks, sets up plays for others etc. he does not totally rely on other players. This was no more in evidence than last weekend.

He does go well in attack but he's a defensive nightmare for them. Can't catch kicks or read where the play is going. Errors that have led to conceding tries are multiple

Fair enough. I just have a high opinion of his attacking ability.

an alleged rapist...anyone can allege anything. it was thrown out, there wasn't sufficient evidence to conclude what happened.

besides who leaves a hotel room and then walks into the next club with the accused rapists laughing and carrying on when the security guard was right there.

the nrl has guilty players running around who have threatened women that they will die, bashed women including their wives/girlfriends, people who spray flyspray or whatever it was in their mouth to avoid a drink driving charge. all found guilty, but an alleged rapist is where the line is drawn, even after it was thrown out

this is why the club goes nowhere, any star that is available is either not the position we need because you know the guy in the same spot is a world beater, its the other teams system, or we don't like the players jib
JDB was the premium player 2.5 years ago, i wouldn't be signing him on the same $ value based on 2.5 year old form but he is still at his peak playing age, clearly kept in shape

If we’re looking at moving AD back to 6 we’ll need 2 x wingers and 2 x centres.

Realistically they'll keep Nofa but yes we really do need a whole new backline - I don't really care if they're not super attacking players we just need them to defend.
