I do not want Luke Thompson on $850k. I appreciate this will be subsidised for the first couple of seasons, and he is a great player, however it states that he wants an extension...sounds familiar.

Let the dogs struggle with their salary cap. They are able to recruit all these big names because we keep bailing them out, think Reynolds, Mbye. They will be stuffed for years as long as no one helps them out.

Let's put that money towards mo instead

OK, I thought it was a spelling error?

Just looking at both there club profiles, Thompson is way ahead in most measures, except tackle efficiency which Momo is 2% higher, but has made (approx) 100 less tackles?

I would rather Thompson. Fotuaika is a very good player but we need some quality, experienced players to complement our young guys.

Two schools of thought going on over the last few pages.

Yes Prop is not a position we lack depth or quality. It is something that will only improve with the natural improvement of our young players.

In saying that Thompson is a real quality player and i hope we are a chance to sign him. We need to improve the squad in any way we can, not just sit around waiting for the next Latrel Mitchell.

We are in no position to be cute. If a quality players comes on the market and we are a chance we take him.

You work out the roster after the signature.

I agree, there's only two certain players for the prop rotation for mine and that's Stef and Twal. Thompson is an upgrade on all the others. Tamou is gone after next year also and who knows what is happening with Mikaele.

Molo? Hope you checked the right profile.

Not Francis Molo, Mo Fotuaiki.

And Musgrove?

Signing Thompson we could have an international front rower and a state of origin front rower for next year good signing with a player like twal from the bench becomes a good pack

No I looked at Molo.

Still there numbers are similar, though Mo is younger?

Contracted until next season?

Further to @THE_POM post, Smith - Shields has resigned for 2 more years at the raiders according to the Canberra times

Another one we lost?…he stayed for less

I cannot blame him for not wanting to move to Sydney. Part of our territory is Covid ravaged.

Canberra is in lockdown as well?

20 cases as opposed with 633 in Sydney? I dare say the ACT population will get on top of this quickly. Residents will do the right thing, not circulate among households and turn up to work when they have symptoms.

Most of the residents are government employees hey...
Could go either way.

Meaning?

They get on board or they think they're special and don't?

ACT residents take pride in their community. I know I lived their and like the residents did in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, they will get on top of it.

They'll just sit at home and play the gatorade sax until it's over.

I say we get Gareth Ellis and Ellery Hanley out of retirement and become the England Tigers

Well there isn’t a lot of Australian talent around? Another Gareth or Ellery would be fantastic.

Few years away.

they can come from timbucktoofor all I care as long as whoever we get plays good footy

Surely if Thompson was that good they would find a way to keep him. That is why he is also looking for a long contract he knows he is not worth what he is currently getting paid.

We have learned that ball-playing locks are extremely important to any team's attacking structure. Cam Murray, Isaaiah Yeo, Victor Radley & Jake Trobojevic are some of the best ball-playing locks atm. Asiata's ball playing skills is just as good as some of them - he can also play five-eight. I didn't quite understand why the Broncos weren't using him that much before he went down injured. However, I'm not surprised the Dogs are after him - obviously Gus sees something in him that Walters don't. That's why Gus is one of the great minds of our game.

So the Dogs have maxed their cap out for the next 2 years and still don’t have a 1/7/9 LOL and the media call us a basket case

See, there is something good about being a Tigers supporter

The Dogs are the new test case for if a spine matters. Based on their recruitment, they don’t seem to think so…

I'd say the biggest issue is their coach.

Both Cowboys and Broncos went off him so there's an issue there.
