Bateman would have to be on 500k or less, he's still a risk. Add incentives to make it more lucrative. Can we regain his past form or was that his peak of his career and it's all downhill and be an expensive flop?

Our second row still requires a lot of improvement.

LL is just lazy. He's not fit and probably never will be. It's been his issue the past 5 years and no major breakthroughs. He;s a 40-50 min player max, or realistically an impact player off the bench.

Blore needs a lot of improvement. His attack has been poor - has he made a single tackle break this season? His defence is solid, has an offload and he makes decent metres but needs to threaten the line more. Hopefully another offseason and and some more experience will help him take the next step.

Garner is just average all round. The new MCK for 2022. If he's getting gametime we're in trouble.

Kelma, still too early in his development to say. Unlike Blore his attack has showed promise with a couple of strong tries already. His defence needs more work though.

No one is even close to locking down a position in the second row next season.

I disagree with blore

He has been fantastic defensively

He runs great lines and has hands of steel to take somr of the shockers brooks throws at him

How does Kelma go? Haven’t watched much reserve grade.

Kelma has played a few matches in first grade

He is great in attack, and is a big body but his defence needs work

A offseason would do him wonders

“I think the Tigers would look at him as he’s the player they need and obviously Michael Maguire’s link to Wigan.”

Just so everyone can start at the same expectation level - there is nothing from the Tigers about Bateman, no comment, no chase, no official offer or discussion, except Bulldog Ritchie suggesting Tigers "would look at him".

Don't say in 4 weeks "couldn't even sign up Bateman, we suck" until there's actually some official comment that we are interested or have gone after him.

We'd be silly not to sign up Thompson and Bateman, both of them deserve another chance in the NRL - but at no more than $400-$450K p/y

Ricky did it and resurrected the Faiders in 2019 with John and George. With Jackson and Oliver joining us in 2022 it's a no brainer, instant chemistry!

There is NO chance of getting either Batman or Thompson for under 450k as they are international players but that's just my opinion.
Batman 500-600k might do it and Thompson 650k with Dogs contributing a 200k first year to make up his current salary of 850k. We need to be realistic as we are not a top team and guaranteeing them finals etc..

Bateman is only worth $450k max in my opinion, he hasn't looked great at Wigan this year - but he was a game changing 11 at Canberra. It sounds like he realises that he made a mistake going back to England and he wants to resurrect his NRL career.

If we sign him we should add conditions to his contract, $450k year 1, $550K year 2 (performance based) and then a WTs option in year 3.

Luke has a problem that downgrades his worth. He doesn't play by the rules and has missed 10 weeks in suspensions over the last 2 years.

In saying that the right coach will bring out the best in both of them.

Question is, is Madge that coach?

Bateman on 500k sounds like a roosters contract.
He was near the best forward in the NRL when he was at the Raiders.

What is the opinion of members about Billy Magoulias, off contract with the sharks, is a ball playing lock who runs and defends hard. He would not be that expensive and we need forwards that actually do something and not just make up numbers.

My opinion is that we should avoid players like Billy Magoulias like the plague (or COVID). He is a good reggie but just a reggie.

That's exactly what the article is for. Planting the seed.

If we sign him, Ritchie got the scoop. If we don't he gets an article in a month saying "Another star rejects Tigers".

Thats how the current crop of "journo's" (and I used the word loosely) work.....

Madge for me is the right coach.. He has just gone through hell and built all the foundations to have this club successful long term and not a quick fix (like Dogs) so for me deserves a shot and getting some of the glory that is coming.

We'll see on Sunday. Madge's time at WTs is hanging on a very loose thread.

If it's not, it should be.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Tevita Funa and Andrew Davey from the sea eagles. Funa is off contract and can play centre, wing, fullback and has spent time at 6 as well. Davey is a 2nd rower who is off contract 2022 , if a Garner swap is still on the cards i think this guy could really add to the team

Tolutau Koula would be the Manly player I'd be going after. deadset freak. can approach after November 1 as well.

I won’t get excited till he is signed . He may be coming back …. Tigers would be keen …. Madge has links to Wigan ….blah blah blah . Just over every player looking for a new club is linked to Tigers whether we are interested or not.

**The dogs are in trouble, they can't afford to carry on with there offer to Asiata?**

ASIATA’S DOG SWITCH OFF

The Bulldogs bid to land John Asiata appears to have fallen through due to salary cap constraints.

The Dogs have pulled out of talks to land the Broncos forward owing to the lack of cash available in their salary cap.
