Paulo at $850k. Yuk!

I wouldn't necessarily say yuk, but I don't think he's worth this type of coin either. Payne Haas - absolutely, Fisher-Harris - yep probably, but I don't think there are any other props right now that I'd go that high for - I'd probably offer him 700k per year over 3 years.

Yeah look Willow, I was a bit harsh. $850k is too much though. More palatable at $700k ??

If he came itd be next year so parra could free up cash to retain their others. If anyone thinks we shouldnt sign the starting nsw origin prop who would be 30 at the end of a 3 yr contract is crazy. We need another prop, we need experience we need a forward who can pass the ball. We could pay him 850k and then pass that money onto Stefano at the end of his contract post that.

It may be more then we would like to pay but players arent coming to us for what they could esrn elsewhere - thsi could our Roy Asotasi signing.

We have a big Samoan grouping already and he would fit in well and he is a leader.

Not saying it will happen but def like it

If we were going to sign off contract players, we’d have signed them already. Whatever players we do sign, will be contracted for 2022.

Can we expect the chairman to offer each of these a 4 year deal? Dream team right there.

Josh Rizk and Ryan Garner gone to Rabbits according to some random on twitter.

I think Josh Rizk was meant to be the next big thing by a lot on here but couldn't crack the Flegg team this year.

No issue with that. Ryan Garner struggled to make the bench for Ryde and Rizk fell away too - think he got one run in Flegg this season and didn't put his best foot forward unfortunately. Again, we've got more talented players on the books to try and retain so hopefully that's where the focus is.

Ryan was only brought down cos of Luke.
I'd assume Luke may leave also if that's the case.

Manly talk might be on the money.

Especially given he will have another year in the body as well by the time he comes. No doubt would be a 3yr or more deal. He would be around 32-33 by the time he finishes. Not many props are marquee in their early 30s. Paying 850k is way overs. Max I would go is maybe 850k next year if we can get him early and then 650k years after.

He can bring his mate Papali with him , he’s been outstanding for the eels

Was about to post papali”I is also off contract. Spend the $$$ on him rather than Paulo

I was begging that we sign him before he went to eels. Still only like 22 as well!

He's the one I want as well. Eels have wasted him lately

Had half a good season before going back to the lazy ways he showed in all his years at the warriors

I’d say we are considering offering a 2 year $850/s deal that will extend to a 3 year deal once Parra has made a decision to resign the likes of;
Papali
Gutherson
Matterson (maybe)
Brown (extension instead of the 23 option)
Niukore

All of which would cost less than Paulo’s $850.
Parra would probably resign him for 770-800 but there is a higher risk in missing out of some of the low key signings above like Papali and Niukore who will be upgraded but won’t cost anywhere near the same as Paulo.

Still think we should do the same with Penrith and steal Leota off them!

Surely nicholls has signed elsewhere hence why souths haven't re-signed and waiting for season over to announce

Adam Kieran is good

Where is all this Junior Paulo stuff coming from ? Is this another wish list for someone or some actual inside info. For me JP and Stefo would be outstanding but been there too many times to get excited.

$850 is way overs for Paulo but then I considered this, we had Packer on what $700ish and Tamou on $350 this year. He is better than both off them put together and they cost us just over a mil this season. Couple Paulo with Stefano that a bit over a mil between them a season and tell me what gets you more value. We have to start landing decent players eventually or we will continually be treading water.

Adam Keighran and Drew Hutchison. Are they on contract for next year? They've been great for the Chooks. Keighran excellent at centre and Hutchison is playing at a level that Brooks could only dream of
