375k a year isn't bad for what he was outputting at Titans.
Tigers are getting both Hastings and Peachey on less than what they were paying for Mbye. Based on current form both of those guys seem to be better quality than Mbye. Neither deal is going to screw them over long term if we dud it up. This is a good deal for the Tigers in my book.

Gotta remember we are still paying Mbye $400k, which means we are paying almost $800k for Tyrone to replace him in total

But he's not replacing Mbye, he is going to be playing lock. Mbye never played lock. Nobody we played at lock this season seemed a particularly good option there. We needed to try to improve the position and he was the best available option.
Mbye leaving (and us picking up half his tab) and Peachey signing are just unrelated events. The Peachey signing will prove to be either good business or bad business, but that won't have anything to do with Mbye.

The club is paying Mbye to go away the figure we are still paying him has nothing to do with any player coming in. The only way anyone would be happy using this logic would be if we signed at $500k player for $100k.

I don’t think anyone is denying that. However I’d say Mbye was paid out of the 21 cap with some recent front loaded extensions. (Mikalee, Seyfarth, Tulagi) Smart business if this has happened.
