Daley was better than good.

Daley, Kenny & Fittler all great 6's

Benji too

I'd rate Marshall at least a good light-year-and-a-half behind those other three.

Tough crowd

Completely agree,Benji at his best was the equal of all of them but his form was so erratic he would not compare to any of them as far as reliability was concerned

So who is going to beat us to the spoon.Without a massive salary cap breach and loss of points by another club I just don’t see a team with a weaker squad. Dragons are the only club that might push us a tad

Manly..then KICK EM OUT..

Benji was instrumental in changing passing but way to inconsistent most of the time. At his peak just amazing

Cowboys and Dragons for sure.

The same curse that denies us making the 8 also assures we never get the spoon. It’s the will of the footy Gods.

Cowboys for sure. Townsend for 3 years when he is already past it? Who is the recruitment officer up there? Should be sacked immediately.

At the back end of 2021 season the Cows improved out of sight. In Val Holmes and Drinkwater they have some game breakers. We do not have a game breaker on our books

Can we sign Laurie Daley or Brett Kenny , move brooks to 5/8 and get one of these blokes to assist him as a specialist trainer , Hastings to half and run the team

Sounds like a good idea.

Daley is over rated as a coach. Was a reasonable player but as we saw with SOO he canned Robbie for Nathan Peats...... I think that says enough about his judgement of talent & how to use it!

A reasonable player???!!!!! Haha in what world? He was an elite player and nothing less

Andrew Johns was an elite player.......Daley, although a tried hard, not close to the same class.

So there has only ever been one elite player? Good one. BTW i never compared him to Joey

No you couldnt . Chalk & cheese.

Benji was in a team with no stars while the others were in an all star cast.

I disagree,Benji played with Ellis Farah Prince Tuiaki Tuquiri just to name a few.At his best Benji was wondefrul but he was very patchy

Am I in bizarro world ? Benji was at his best , the best attacking player to ever play the game . His best games are better than anyone else’s . The issue is that the game requires defence , and the greatest are called that because of thier consistency .
If we are getting everyone at thier absolute peak . I’d take benji over just about anyone . His game against Parra , where he and Hayne put on a show , was low key one of the best games ever . It wasn’t against poor opposition , but rather the opposite .

Didn’t we beat them at their home ground at the back end of the season?

As i said at his best he was wonderful. The others had great careers Benji had great games and 1 maybe 2 great years

A lot of angst about not signing anyone on here. I'm not saying we're going well, but there's been very few signings by anyone since Nov 1 and none of the big names have signed anywhere.

Obviously this year there wasn't a lot of dodgy early negotiations and they've actually waited until the signing period opens.

I'm sure there's plenty of opportunity for disappointment at the club but our lack of signings this week is only in line with every other club at the moment.

Brett Kenny was Australia 5/8 before wally Lewis .that says alot .

Kenny and Lewis were both great players. I can't go past Billy Slater as one of the best I have seen play. Garry Jack was another, more of a classical fullback.

absolutely right, best attacking player ever. The guy played chess on the field well better than most.

The way the game plays ultimately went very against him, as well as his own poor decisions in jumping around clubs and codes. Regardless as wayne bennett said, he's up there in the best always
