Keep Joe O, Tuilagi, Talau (mostly because of lack of depth) and Twal.

Maybe LL, Madden (depth), Mikaele.

The rest....meh

I'll be the elephant in the room here - I wouldn't be going after Paulo - for the sort of money he will want I'd be putting those funds towards luring a top shelf halfback to replace Brooks.

Like who?

All kinds of young talents could pop up from now till then

True. The half , 5/8 combo is critical for success.
Hopefully by mid to late in season 22 we have a good idea who is our long term 5/8 and what Hastings position is.

I'd have Logen Dillon as our fullback...something about this kid has star quality. Laurie our long term 5/8 and Hastings in at half-back.

yes i cant wait to see this kid progress, heres to hoping

It’s make or break for Hoffman in ‘22

It’s already Broke
Soft as a lemonade sandwich

Thanks to Mbye rushing out of the line and leaving him stranded in defence.

Credit where credit is due.... I really didn't think we could pull off the Papali'i signing considering the position we are in and no big name has committed yet... Outstanding and for 600k that is a very good deal for both player and club...

I think we have just broken the barrier and others will now follow.. Not sure if we can get Hodgson but if we could get him that we be a massive win for us moving forward.

Maybe Sheen's has been working this last week :grinning:

Anyway congrats and well done to all involved

Sheens was always known as the "recruiter" and has that magnetism to attract players. Credit to Warren McDonnell as well as I'm sure it is a team effort.

I was of the understanding that players don't want to be coached by Madge.

Wonder what role Maguire played in negotiations ?

The anchor.

You do realise that being the anchor in a team is actually a good thing?

It's looking more and more like Hartigan couldn't close a cupboard for us let alone a contract.

Fox Sports reporting that despite losing Papali'i and Niukora and Hipgrave being forced to retire that Parra are not going to offer Matterson a new deal and want him gone after 2022. That would be all time hilarious

Matterson has lots to offer. Imo he's never been afraid to do the hard work on the field. I'd be glad to have him back next year now we have papali'i.

I'd be glad never to have that cat back.

His personality would not stand a downgrade in payments from us to return to our club, his asking price has suffered a devaluation since joining the slimmers mainly due to concussion and injuries

His options may not allow him to knock anything back

You reckon Maguire will re-sign a quitter...
He's been below ordinary since joining Parra
(Funny they're saying the Backrower we signed from them will go backwards with us - When Mattos gone way back since joining them)

Matto is no chance at coming back - Eels had him in the prop rotation
at the end of the year...
Garbage

Totally agree mate

I hate the guy and hope we don't even consider him

My post was just stating in a short sharp jab at his obviously sooky ways now being well known in the NRL that any offer from any club will have to do him because if there is any offer it will be small in $$ and short time aka a train and trial like Roberts

Now wouldn't that be something

That slimy mongrel dumped by the team he ran off to than only offered a train and trial

And didn't he just take up a player option?

Wish it was in pawwas favor so they could've dumped him now

Yes - which fueled the whole no one wants to play for Maguire agenda - strike one when he is gone. Did well in some areas, but if your position requires you to recruit players to the club, you have to get the players needed to strengthen the FG squad first and foremost.

The largest cog in the recruitment wheel is the coach. If he can't get the job done, which is consistent with results on-field over the last 3 years, you need to change up gears. Sheens and McDonnell are now the face of recruitment with immediate results.
