Brett Hodgson I think has done better as a coach in the UK than Sheens did (not saying Hodgson is a better coach than Sheens generally, but I hope we can get him back to the club in some role down the track).

Hodgo coached our reserve grade side a few years back...I think we came last that year

Dykes makes plenty of sense I think. genuine fullback that can put pressure on Laurie moving forward that is stuck behind Kennedy at Cronulla.

Dykes is interesting.

He's one of those players that have their path blocked. Much like Laurie when we signed him.

Looking at his highlights he seems to play fairly similar to Laurie.

Wonder if we keep him around after that work with the koori kids coming through looking after their pathways maybe. As a player he'd lost it once he came here but i believe hes had a shift in attitude and could be good in a role such as that.

Penrith probably have an off field role gift wrapped and ready for him. I don't care how well he's done over the last few weeks. The fact it's taken until round 7 in his second year to figure out he's here to play footy isn't enough to extend his pension contract with us.

If Roberts is medically retired doesn't that open up 2 top 30 spots that require filling before 30 June 2022?

An outside back especially full back would certainly be one spot requiring immediate filling whether that would be Dykes or another player.

Laurie appears to be too light for NRL and I know people will quote past players like Brett Hodgson and Preston Campbell but players are now built over 100 kgs which must make it hard for slightly built players to complete week in week out. Three 100 kgs players in a tackle now that is serious weight.
