Just to touch on this…. I don’t think when it comes to Lenui his issue was starting. I think it more so had to do with his minutesI cant see Leniu signing here to come off the bench TBH
Rather lick the salt off a cashew.Yep. Never really liked cashews.
Just hope it doesn't turn into a Packer/Ballin type situation, where we bought players who were pretty buggered.Bateman might add OFF the field as well in terms of leadership etc
Good to see you posting again Happy one of the OG’s… I’m not 100% sold on Bateman either, haven’t really watched him in England so maybe I’m overselling him - however when he was at Canberra which wasn’t that long ago (2-3 years ago) he was a weapon and the kind of player we needed and he’s still pretty young. Maybe going back to England he lost that hunger to improve and went for the money/lifestyle etc, coming back to the NRL may be a challenge he steps up too
I agree the priorities should be both Klemmer and Lenui - but if we do get Bateman I wouldn’t be complaining let’s just say
Valid point mate, i just mean if making him a starter now is the sticking point of his contract or the difference between ink on paper, i think we just commit to it he is going to be a force regardless, runs with intent to damage ! if we get him id be stoked ! these are the types of players you want to build your team around. fingers crossed for Leniu wearing a Tigers jersey soon fellas.Just to touch on this…. I don’t think when it comes to Lenui his issue was starting. I think it more so had to do with his minutes
He was playing like 25-30 mins off the bench for small cameos - he might be coming off the bench with us however he’ll double his minutes and maybe in the next year or two (if we get Klemmer) he’ll be starting with Stef in the foreseeable future
Seems like it’s either us or Dragons for his signature - idk why anyone would want to go to the dragons whom seem like they’re imploding internally by the second, 3 people turned up to there awards night ceremony as a new recruit do you really want to be walking into a “team” like that?
With us we have all the benefits… western Sydney, more money, more minutes along with the new faculties/coaching structure.
On top of that we have Blore, Laurie, Api, Staines (most likely) all former Penrith boys probs getting in his ear - and on top of that he played junior footy with Stefano and even Seyfarth
I think we’ve got our man and I’m confident he’ll be a tiger and I’m so excited for it
I just read the words Twal and Impact in the same sentence....
This place really is a treat.
Twal isn't a bullocking line breaker or anything like that, but he will be as integral to our success as an impact prop. He tightens the middle and can be relied on to make tackles every time. Defence is every bit important as attack.
I like Des but his last two exits have been messy.Des Hasler come on down, please join our extended coaching staff.
There’s a blast from the past.I don't know if any Sydney clubs did this ...but Brisbane Wests back in the 70's had a lady who would sell raffle tickets at the bottom of the escalators at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown that led from the Mr Whippy stand to Woolworths ...6 days a week she would do it
Didn't help in the end ...the still went under in the mid 90's after winning back to back premierships in the 91 and 92 ..smashing Tiger Watto's pussy cats ....hehe
3....I like Des but his last two exits have been messy.
The knuckle draggers at the DT and Fox will now be kicking Manly for a while instead of us. Sure we'll be back in their sights at some stage. Enjoy it while it lasts!I can't believe that Manly sacked Des Hasler. We are no longer the basketcase of the NRL!
More than that .. the Turbo Brothers have an exit clause should Des be sacked .. lets offer them top dollar and get the 3 Turbo boys in a package deal .. !!Des Hasler come on down, please join our extended coaching staff.
Management of the salary cap should be for bean keepers and not coaches. If the clubs gave him free reign over cap management then more fool them.Des crippled Manly's cap in his first stint.
He then did the same to the Dogs and then sued them for it.
He's now got his just desserts for years of red-lining club's caps for short-term success.
I'm glad he's been railroaded. He's a myth of a coach and someone who has never had the long-term plans, of the clubs he has been at, in mind.
Bye, Felicia.
Well he'd immediately become the only one in the coaching staff with recent NRL coaching experience.Des Hasler come on down, please join our extended coaching staff.
