There's no such thing as loyalty in the NRL Earl, that's a thing from the '80's. It's a professional sport now, like work. You get a better offer, you take it. How many juniors that come through the ranks are even genuine juniors? They're from the bush, or up the coast or even from other NRL junior systems. Clubs are the same, they're just trying their best to win the comp, not make friends.
It's not that black and white though is it. Most players leave for a tonne more money. Tedesco left for the same money. That is what irritates me about the guy. We wanted him and offered him a great deal and he screwed us over.
He also came across as difficult. Whining about not getting everything done perfectly when he was injured.
I agree though that Clubs do the same thing. It is professional sport.
