Thanks for the info but he sounds like a player we don't need. Has some success and gets lazy. He's a naturally big body that will only grow bigger.

I wonder if that’s the major objection?
Since sacking Madge we have a spoon and are favourites to collect another one 5 games from now.
We have a head coach, who appears to be not respected by the board , who will finish up end of 2024.
To be replaced by a novice coach with limited experience.
Players have a short career and in their post career all they have is their record of success.
 
Major Factors in players coming To our club in my opinion only
Our Results are very Poor last 2 years ( we need to win 3/5 games to finish the season off So they feel we do have potential .
we need to secure fist grade quality singing now , once we get one more will follow , the young brothers are good signings but not what other players would see as a big help for next season .
we need to chase also the best players caught behind top liners like Trindal to help across both NRL and reserve grade and pay enough to make them want first grade and some extra cash over their current wage .
Players may also see Sheens over Benji as not a great option , to many coaches , I say Move Sheens at Season end but let everyone know now , it hasn’t worked , Bring in Holbrook as assistant , Give Benji 1 1/2 season to move up the ladder , not win the comp but move up and become competitive otherwise hand it over to Holbrook , nasty but we can’t stay on the bottom for ever , Benji goes from last this season and moves us up 3 to 4 spots I would be ok, next year , who knows maybe he pushes us up 5/6 spots even better .
if we are getting Sezer , speed it up lock it in tell everyone we have a 7 then Chase hard for our 6. , we have shit loads of cash , and don’t worry about top 30 do a bulldogs sign now dump others later

secure , Blore , Staines , Steph on extensions

Which IMHO is what we need.

Were not defending in the Centers/Wings hard enough. Tupou has been walked over in several games, yes he gets caught wide but it's a total wing turnstyle. Even makes Nofo look like a defender some games.

We need an upgrade there. I was even thinking of having the second row'ers pair with the wings and move the centers in. Just to get some beef closer to the wing.

I sadly agree.

Hate sending Sheens out like this but we lost to the Dragons.
We lost to the Dragons, who lost their coach and had injuries and are 16th.

We are not seeing any success on the field and the team Sheens has is far FAR greater then the team Madge has.

We need a basics coach, Sheens hasn't coached basic defense. I wish Haslier or Flannagan were coming here.
Instead of Holbrook, I would consider:
Paul McGregor
Ivan Henjak
Anthony Griffin

Why? we need someone to toughen up our squad before Benji starts. Sheens hasn't toughened up our squad. Were buttersoft.

Small sample size - really only playing some good footy the last couple of weeks. If he can close out the season at this level I would definitely look into him. However, he's quite injury prone at stilll such a young age which is probably why he's testing the market. I would monitor but would need more shown to throw him good coin. Definitely a talent though.

Again.. just run a transparent process.

If Robbie is the best GM fine -- but good luck having your GM as the boss of the coach then.

Knowing the Tigers - Robbie will become the new GM and they will structure around it and say that he is not Benji's boss -- but they are EQUAL and compliment each other.

The Roosters are going for Sami and Best. They said they can fit them into the cap because of Suaalii leaving.
Everyone keeps defending the roosters saying that players take pay cuts to play for a potential GF winning side but they can't use that excuse if they can't even make the 8.

Yeah a series of elbow injuries may be of concern. But he has consistently been able to score tries when he is on the park. Did not look out of place at the next level either.

Pascoe I've met quite a few times. Showed me the coe before it was released and really made me try to feel like the inner circle. I tend to think he should move on as CEO, but has nothing to do with his personality.

Mate, what can I say. I’m sure these blokes are nice to people in their lives. No person is 100% bad.

I’m not sure what circles you roll in where Robbie Farah is taking video at your wedding and Pascoe is taking you on a personal tour of the COE, but most fans probably don’t have that type of relationship or circle.

I hope I’ve been unlucky, but it’s happened too often for it to be a coincidence.

Perhaps you should share some context too around your negative experiences? Where did the approaches you mentioned take place ?

Mainly at pubs. And no I wasn’t drunk. Does the location matter?

I don’t want to argue with people that have had good experiences with these guys. I hope my interactions are in the minority, but I certainly won’t try to engage again.

I think there is a difference if if it’s a club function or if they are on their own time at a pub or in a restaurant or something,,, I would choose to leave them alone if they are just looking to have a quiet drink … but that’s just me
