Most of the players do not directly negotiate conditions of their contracts, that is why they pay their agents/managers.
It would be better to say that players agents/managers negotiate the contract conditions, and their greed may not necessary reflect the player view.

He wants 1.2 million. Our initial offer on the Tuesday two weeks ago (28th November) was a 1.125 million 4 year offer. He's stalling to increase the offer. He knows Tigers will do it but him and his manager are going to other clubs to generate more interest and price increases

very similar situation to Sam and Latu I feel. we were out of the blocks early and looked to be done before they shopped around a little bit only for them to come back to us later.

nothing to worry about at this point, but if things do drag on being christmas then i would begin to worry.

Eh 1.1 is overs as it is. Stick to it. Its for 2025 so no rush.

I wonder how much our governance situation is leading to any stalling. Yes stalling to reach $1.2M but Black Money may also want security in the knowledge what is happening at board level (as they may think this could have repercussions on coaching & recruitment structure). Just thinking out loud.

That is a very good point that you raise.All the more reason to make the announcements asap to bring clarity to our future

No other club will offer anywhere near our $1.1 offer.....take it or leave it!
