Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Additionally, Kaufusi played 6 games more than Klemmer. If you balance it out on averages, Klemmer gets more total run metres & PCM for the season.

But I'm sure that I don't know what I'm talking about.

That's been well proven....

You left out the most telling stat....
The Dollars!!
Kaufusi is on 400k, Klemmer on Double that.

So You could have a potential pairing of Klemmer and Kaufusi for argument sake, at 1.2 Mill....
Or Kaufusi and JFH / AFB (or any other top line Prop) for 1.4 Mill.

Wanna bet which one the majority takes?

Just seems like a locker room cancer along with his issues with coaching, think seyfarth or Tim J could step into his role and still be good while playing with lots of heart while not being on crazy money
The more time goes on I don't actually blame him for being upset

To be fair he is used to professionalism and this year has been a basket case, no matter how much positivity I try and spin on the season.. coaching, performances, signings and those we let go.. it's been a year to forget.

My guess is that there will be some players who are still dirty Kev got the bullet, I am praying for a train wreck, not sure Walsh, Haas, Cobbo, and the likes will buy what Madge is selling.
Then you factor in the Queensland verse NSW rivalry, it could be great viewing from the outside, tales of Bronco town
I'm friends with an ex player and he is one of those who is ropeable.
Generally speaking the brisbane fans aren't too happy about madge, don't think he was the right fit. Alot of them think Hannay would have been a better option
I think they are all to proud, madge will do them good if everyone buys in.

Making statements that are statistically incorrect will get shown up. Weird that people celebrate Kaufusi & bag Klemmer when Klemmer's number exceed Kaufusi's.

Double Kaufusis stats and see how you go....
After all, DK costs twice as much - So he should give us twice the output yeah?

Weird that fantasy footy gurus who study stats - thinks that makes them a real supercoach

Don't forget Eisenhuth ! Just shows what the calibre of comments here is about players - Cleary must have seen something in Garner and Eisenhuth to get them both at Penrith.
Yep he saw two players he could pay peanuts that could do a job when required. That allowed my money to throw at the big names. Most good clubs do it, our problem we have to pay overs for them

No.

We didn't.

Wests didn't in; Matts (2nd), Ball (8th) or Flegg (7th); in a season where all our best juniors were playing well above their age category, far more than any other club, hence weakening every grade in the name of experience for the future.

So, unless you want to argue that our focus is in the Balmain Tigers pathways system primarily, then that statement is deliberately misleading and you know that.
Wests sucks as well. Those coming through are not being properly prepared for first grade. They just continually promote them without teaching them anything as they go.

I'd say I missed that bit of your argument about 'low output, one dimensional players' but then realised you never added the finances to your argument.

That said, I don't pay the wages, so what they are being paid isn't really my concern.

He demanded to play one specific position.
That is not only unreasonable... for a 17 year old kid who's proven nothing it's being up your own clacker so far it's not funny.
Didnt Galvin do the same and also request to leave as his pathway seemed blocked?

These were some cheapo shoes that had NRL logos on em. Players did the campaign. Bateman did the Tigers one.

They've put a Warrington logo over the Tigers logo and Bateman seems to think its funny.
I had no idea what this all meant as well.
Men liking shoes....lol

I've seen some dumb arguments in my time. This rates among them.

But, if you want to argue contract values I guess I can play along.

Message Board Target Kaufusi- 873.3 PCM

Message Board Villian Klemmer- 846.5 PCM

Unnamed $900k a year player - 724.3 PCM

Kaufusi- 84m per game average
Klemmer- 101m per game average
Unnamed $900k per year player- 91m per game average

Kaufusi 95.1% tackle effeciency
Klemmer 96.4% tackle effeciency
Unnamed $900k per year player- 91% tackle effeciency

Kaufusi- 2186 run metres
Klemmer - 2023 run metres
Unnamed $900k per year player - 1747 run metres

Would you swap Klemmer for NAS? Before you ask- Klemmer played 20 games, NAS in 19. So you know...pretty comparative compared to Kaufusi's 26 games.

Completely Agree. People are writing off Benji off the bat whether we had gotten a coach with more experience we would still be in the same position this year.
How do you quantify a statement like that?
Maguire debatable if he is a good coach or not, an origin win doesn't justify him being a good club coach because your not coaching the best players in NSW at club level. Quite evident when he came to Tigers we regressed every year.
There were other factors but yes, he was not sucessful here at all.

Not that straightforward, is it?

Madge flogged the players, remember Jesse Sue half-collapsing, didn't result in ongoing success. Does Cleary flog his players? Robinson? Bennett?

Also cannot ignore the case of poor young Keith Titmus at Manly. Imagine if Shawn Blore has a medical incident because of that intensity.

I think people make real mistakes pointing to Craig Bellamy, arguably the greatest coach of all time, and suggesting that it's just a matter of replicating some of what Bellamy does, as if that was a simple thing.
My mates son , played at the storm last before moving to the panthers this year , when I asked him what was the difference in training between the two , he said the storm was harder running wise , but the panthers drills where a lot harder , he said both made many throw up and they were spent every session. Can we send both clubs a request for there pre season play book

But, to actually put sense to your argument, the Sharks signed Kaufusi off potential to a 3 year $400k a year deal. Now that he is delivering on that potential, and using your style of argument, 'wanna bet he's closer to $800k on his next contract?'

Klemmer's contract was picked up from Newcastle- an established player & when signed by the Knights, around 26 years old. So is it really surprising that his contract value is higher? "wanna bet if he gets another contract it's more reflective of his current status?"

I guess you'll change your argument to support cost-effective Klem at that point.

Weird argument.

Klemmer - 2023 run metres

The only areas Kaufusi is significantly superior to Klemmer is tackle breaks (36 v 15) & offloads (32 v 5)

Klemmer is guilty of not being a flashy, explosive forward. Luckily the Tigers have 2-3 of those guys in Hunt, Pole & Sione Fainu on the books.

Not sure how Kaufusi fixes what ails the Tigers in place of poor old boring Klemmer.
My message was more about his running style looks like he stops before he even hits contact, at least i always seem to notice that

Don't forget Eisenhuth ! Just shows what the calibre of comments here is about players - Cleary must have seen something in Garner and Eisenhuth to get them both at Penrith.
If you are judging players by whether Cleary signed them, then take a hard look at what he did to our roster. 😳

Cleary saw something in Eisenhuth alright.
$ Savings.

He signed Eisenhuth in 2021 and didn’t select him for any of the last 3 grand finals. In fact, prior to this year, he had only been selected in one finals match, which was 3 years ago, coincidentally the only finals match they have lost in 5 years other than the 2020 GF.

Oh, he did play in two world club challenge matches. Coincidentally lost both.

I do agree that not all comments are top calibre, but puhhhhhlease Eisenhuth ?! Just no.
