They've got Bassingthwaithe waiting in the wings. Rooster might actually grow one of their own for once.
Once Manu comes back, they're just as likely to use him to fill the gap for a season or two.

Eels are having a clean out at the right time. There's a bit coming on the market in the next couple of seasons.

Hey bro, I think Bassinghwaithe has committed
to league, I saw a RA article last week on how they
lost Heinz Lemoto, Rex Bassinghwsithe & Makasini
but retained everyone else in the jnr wallabies setup
Ironically, those 3 are probably pick of the bunch
a long with Kingsley Uys but he's still only 16 y.o.

If they see him as a vital member of the forward pack, why are they only meeting him recently?

Wow, only 2 years. Would have thought a minimum 3 given his age and standing in the squad.
I honestly could not care if he leaves,it is completely up to him if he wants to earn and fight for a position or not
