He's still really young for a prop, and played this year for the Titans, so he must be pretty OK to keep getting selected. This Josiah Pahalu that's in the press wanting out of the Titans .....is he any good
Agreed. In reality today and yesteryear very different. A lot less kids play league as a percentage of available kids. When I was young never heard of soccer. There was just league and that what we played. I did hear but there were no local competitions or friends playing it. Today is very different. Hence probably why there was more talent back then. Today when I look at family and friends for every 50 kids playing soccer there is one kid playing league. Most of the clubs I knew about as juniors in league do not even think exist today. Yet so so many clubs of other codes have flourished and today more being created. Hope I am making sense. You can go back a bit further than Fittler. Steve Rogers, Terry Lamb and Gavin Miller all debuted at 18. They are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. The one thing that ties them together is they were all very talented footballers unlike some of the debuts you see these days.
Has a right to be a bit furious given the Titans used him in 19 games but rested him for the last available game of the year as it would have triggered a 50k bonus. He's still really young for a prop, and played this year for the Titans, so he must be pretty OK to keep getting selected.
Geez, 20; a prop forward.
The players' ages seem to be starting while they're in nappies! 😉
Oops yes it is I apologise and also got side tracked. This is “Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion Thread” …. right?
And scored a try if my memory serves meRound 21 of the 2006 season, and whilst still in high school, Lawrence made his debut for the Wests Tigersagainst the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. He is the youngest player to have debuted for the Tigers, at 17 years and 283 days old.
If he's found to be not guilty.. therefore, did nothing wrong then he doesn't need to be interviewed or be remorseful.. he didn't do anything.. so he's right to be signed..I think its fair for Richo to not say we'll just blindly accept a player who's been stood down pending criminal charges. Due process is very necessary.
First the player needs to be found not guilty, then they need to be interviewed and come across remorseful, professional and have put in place systems to help ensure such an incident doesn't occur again. Maybe gets further involved in the church or something.
If Richo asks him to demonstrate his maturity and he passes then i'm all for him! But he shouldn't just walk into the place because we signed his brother. Standards are important, especially in Benji's family club culture.
When was that? I thought he played for Concord Burwood - was this before then?Tim Brasher went to my school and was in Year 12 in 1988 when he made Australian Schoolboys. He then repeated Year 12 in 1989 at a different school when he made his 1st grade debut and played the grand final aged 18.
He actually initially played in Wests Magpies junior reps

That’s very different to the my local area . RL is by far the sport that has most kids hearts. I’m sure football has higher junior participation, but that’s usually until u13s where kids grow up and mum tends to have less of a say.Agreed. In reality today and yesteryear very different. They could’ve had Bud for half that amount..Daniel Atkinson = dragons 3 seasons for $1.5m
Correct. Concord was my old club. Can’t remember why I played for them when I had to go past Burwood to get there living in Strathfield and Enfield Feds would have been closer ! 🥴Concord Utd and Burwood united were two different clubs
Concord wore a jersey like manlys old maroon & thin White stripes across... Burwoods jersey was similar to the old city Jersey (city v country ) but reversed... Dark Blue with two yellow Vs.. Like balmains design
They could’ve had Bud for half that amount..
If u do everything by the book then there can be no comeback , simple thing like keeping the RLPA informedYou got to tread carefully otherwise the RLPA will get involved as seen with his return to training date.
It’s the off season , we just trying to fill the gap , don’t u like some of the memories that gave been mentioned. Only two months before the season starts , it’s all goodThis is “Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion Thread” …. right?
