Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Benji and the club need success in 2026... not in 2029... And success in 2026 can influence the success we have in 2029 with the impact on our ability to recruit etc

We lose a promising junior or two, so what.. we can just poach a promising junior or two from elsewhere when the time is right for us (like we did with Latu)... And Latu is better than Galvin and TDS from what I've seen.. that money we had offered Galvin, we should be offering Latu early/mid next year if he replicates what he has so far and remains injury free
To the first part, yes, thats why I said that.
I have no problem pinching juniors from other clubs but if thats the route we want to go down then we need to stop BSing that we are a development club.
As for Latu being better than Galvin as a half...lol I said this to you and many others a hell of a lot last year to a chorus of backlash everytime. Ironic that you are now telling me this, but whatever...yes it is correct.

It reads as though Isaac has signed to work for AD [agent] not AD has signed with him

If AD has signed with Moses after everything we already know, we can assume he won't be at the Tigers next year.
SHOOSH

Out-of-favour Bulldogs half Toby Sexton has been offered to the Wests Tigers as a replacement for Lachlan Galvin. We’re hearing the Tigers have other priorities at this stage but it’s one to keep an eye on. Sexton at halfback with Luai at five-eighth could possibly work. We hear the Titans might be interested in Sexton as well.

More bad news for the Wests Tigers … twice deregistered agent Isaac Moses has picked up another of their players - Adam Doueihi – who previously did his own negotiations. Moses also signed fullback Jahream Bula in January from a rival agent. Moses has taken Mitchell Moses, Lachlan Galvin, Aaron Woods, Luke Brooks and James Tedesco out of the club.

BENJI SAFE - EVEN IF HE WINS ANOTHER SPOON

Wests Tigers boss Shane Richardson has declared coach Benji Marshall’s job is safe despite five straight losses and the possibility of a fourth straight wooden spoon.

Losses to Storm (64-nil), Rabbitohs (22-12), Cowboys (32-28), Penrith (18-14) and the Canberra Raiders (16-12) at Campbelltown on Friday night have left the club just two points above the bottom three clubs.

But Richardson insists: “I’ve got no issues with Benji - he’ll be our coach through to next year.

“I can guarantee he’ll be here. When you’re building from the bottom up you’ve got to have some stability. My feeling is Benji is the person to lead us to the next level.”

It’s that time of the year in an NRL season where the blowtorch is turned towards the underperforming clubs and their struggling coaches.

Benji is in a group including the Titans’ Des Hasler, Manly Anthony Seibold and Newcastle’s Adam O’Brien who are under the most pressure.

There’s no question the Wests Tigers have improved significantly on previous years.

But there are still nowhere near where they need to be.

“I still think Benji’s the best person for the job,” Richardson said, “I can make a tough decision if one needs to be made but I believe in him.

Richardson is not concerned that boom five-eighth Lachlan Galvin recently walked out on the club to join the Canterbury Bulldogs.

His agent, the twice deregistered Isaac Moses, had fronted the Wests Tigers boss with a seven-point dossier of complaints around Benji’s coaching.

“I’m not worried about that at all,” Richardson said.

“Benji’s got a great work ethos and he’s a really smart guy with great rugby league intelligence.

“I like the style of his coaching and the style of player he wants.

“He’s getting better and better. He listens and wants to learn. I genuinely believe we can build this club around him.”

Crossland playing #13 for the Knights against the Phins at the moment. Watching closely lol
How is Brailey their #9 playing?
Might influence the whole TDS situation.

I really hope it eventuates as a loan deal for the rest of this season and KPP comes early... We might actually have a chance of scraping into the 8 with Latu at 7, pushing Luai wide and having KPP and Samuela on the edges... It had 2005/2010/2011 vibes last night..

I'm OK if AD pursues other options. He doesn't look that interested, has a turning circle like the Titanic. Without his goal kicking he doesn't offer too much.
Two things ... signing with Isaac Moses if kind of disrespectful to Benji after what has transpired. Think this means AD's days are numbered at the WT after this season otherwise he wouldn't sorry about getting an agent. Think he wants to go to the Perth Bears.

To be fair mate I never said Galvin was better than Latu.

I just had no issues with Benji making the call to build the team around Galvin at the time, because he was the life blood we needed..

That's where we differed on opinion.. not that I said Galvin was better.

Did AD sign with Moses? When did this happen?

daily Tele reported it today
my guess he got the tap and needs a deal somewhere
Adam Doueihi
Solomona Fataape
Brent Naden
Charlie Staines
Brandon Tumeth
Justin Matamua
Josh Feledy

.... all of contract.
Can see all being showed the door.

Richo may push for us to keep Fataape on a cup contract and I can also see Staines possibly being retained, if the money is right.

But the rest, they've had their chances.
Not good enough.

Id keep Staines for the right money, the rest can go.

I’d also look at moving Twal on if he can find another club and look for:
A high impact prop
A lock who defends well and passes the ball
A young depth second rower

If we ended up with something like Bunty Afoa, Adam Elliott and Hassett it should fill some of our gaps.

I think we need at least 6 new recruits.

Id be promoting Izaac Tu'itupou & Krystian Mapapalangi as backs depth. Not a big fan of Will Craig but it looks like he may have also moved into top 30 also.
