Agreed. Always said we should have a 2 dummy half attacking system with lines and offloads around the ruck. Api and de Silva use their running game off the big forwards offloads. Our backline plays have no depth and the players are too slow to get on the outside anyway added with no one running a line back inside on the angle. It's not working.

That attacking system would make me so happy!

Sloan & May on one side, To'a & Tutuva on the other....

Sloan cannot tackle though. Attacking wise he has some good qualities but he's probably the worst defender in the NRL

Makes no sense to me, stupid thing is Richo should step in because if next year he taps Benji on the shoulder we lose a decent young player because Benji wanted Api instead. Move Api to 14 on the bench and give Tallyn the 9. Let Api cover for him till he gets up to speed then get Api as our utility for 2 years, can cover halves, hooker and could do a job in the backrow if we're desperate.

Agreed rather keep de Silva. Richardson was only spruiking to get back to a club that breeds its own. Two gone in 2 months. Api is signed until next year anyway.

I listened to the WT Faithful mob last night …, they say that the reason for the red zone woes are that there aren’t enough forward threats … guys that are going to bust a tackle and score .. Pole might be the only one … maybe Sione … but like they said .. you need all your forwards to have this ability ( see Canberra )

It’s probablly a combination of this and another center to take ADs spot that can put some fear into the opposition…

Need Toa to re-up … things seem quiet there … hoping that’s a good sign

I think if Latu and Luai can hang in there together for a while, Toá will get a lot more early ball than he has in the past.
He usually gets the ball when there is no room to move, defence waiting in numbers.

Red zone attack has been poor , stupidly the club centred all the attack around LG not the 4 time premiership winner I assume to keep LG happy . Now he’s gone they have started from scratch , poor JL has had 3 halves partners in 16 games . hopefully settling on latu will improve it.

I keep asking around abt the To’a extension because I’m worried we will lose him , but people keep saying it’s done so idk.

Theres more to the TDS situation than there is with cobbo mate.. it isn't as clear cut..

If it's something bad from the club's actions I'm surprised it hasn't been leaked to the press. Sounds like it's something TDS has done but the club chooses not air the washing in public.

Well,, if TDS does go to Dogs in 2026 (or earlier), wouldnt it make very suss The Dogs telling Mahoney to move on a few weeks ago before any of the TDS things became open? Why doesnt the NRL investigate such very odd / opportunistic events happening as trigger events in the next steps to happen?

Manly shopping Aaron Schoupp.
I think he’d be worth a look for the rest of this season as a back up centre/back row option.
He has a fair bit of NRL experience when he was at the Bulldogs a few years back, he’s a strong ball runner who regularly makes his 150 plus metres per game and not afraid to do the hard hit ups out of his own end.

Aaron Schoupp v Kayliss Fatialofa in NSW Cup on Saturday afternoon. May the winner of this backrow duel receive a few hours of 'let's get him to the Tigers for backrow depth' in this thread! C'mon Fats!

I don’t care what anyone says but this is the wrong decision to let this kid walk.

My understanding is that they want him to stay and he wants to stay, but he will not continue to wait long enough for the transition from Api.

I don't care what anyone says, someone willing to walk away from his childhood club, where he wants to stay and who want to keep him because he's being asked to play a smaller role a little longer, to the betterment of both his own experience and the club itself, only to then almost be guaranteed the starting role a year later in 2028 or otherwise.... is the wrong decision by Tallyn.

Like, almost laughably bad.

He'll be 22 at the start of the 2028 season. Twenty-two.

And, if he's good enough, he should be backing himself to win the hooking role of Api earlier.

It's just woeful, woeful stuff from the TDS camp in my opinion. It's non-sensical and really poor advice from Tartak if he's recommending a change.

There HAS to be more to it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think there's every chance we sound out Manase following his sentence and that we see him on a T and T in 27 alongside his brothers. He's eligible for parole in October next year, will be only 28 years old for the 2027 season, hasn't had the wear and tear of week in week out first grade for the past 6 years and originally, was that good that he forced Api out of Manly.

Maybe Tallyn sees the writing on the wall competing with Manase, Haywood and Api, the same way that many are suspecting Galvin did with Latu. Maybe its a case of the HM crew from back in the day being a little too egoist for their own good.

Who knows.
