Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It’s no secret the Bulldogs want a big name match winning fullback, so that could mean someone like Curran could become available to create cap space for them to throw big money at a fullback.
For the record I’m tipping they end up with Jaxon Purdue or A J Brimson, watch this space.
Did I read somewhere that Tyson Smoothy can get out of his contract with Wakefield Trinity if he gets an NRL contract?
For his defence and defensive line speed alone I think Smoothy would be very good for us as a bigger, stronger, harder hitting rotation option with Api at 9 and can play a bit of 13 also.
Jesse Arthurs must surely be looking at a change of clubs. He cannot get into the Broncos team as it is and they also have Grant Anderson joining them next season.
Arthurs is tall, good under the high ball, he’s whole hearted, quick, a good strong defender and makes good yardage metres. I’d be trying to sign him as someone who can compete with To’a at right centre, but also a safe reliable winger option if required.
So there are plenty of players who would improve our team potentially available, but as you say we would need to confirm that Bud Sullivan is remaining at Souths or heading elsewhere and we would ideally need to move Jack Bird on also.
I was saying to my wife yesterday that I wouldn’t mind Jesse Arthurs. Has always impressed me whenever he plays. I know other positions should be a priority but he would be a handy pick up.

I think Madge can coach but he can’t build a roster from scratch. He was definitely hindered here with cap issues & was trying to coach blokes who signed to play under Ivan & we can all agree 2 very different styles. The thing that concerned me was his game plan mimicked that of his time at Souths & we didn’t have the firepower in the forwards to be affective and he didn’t change it to adapt to his squad strengths. Good luck to him in GF though as I think he genuinely cared for the club

That's why this club has to keep slugging away at becoming strong.

We all want Richo and Benji to flick a switch and get there quickly but the reality is it could take years of small improvement as evident this season.

I for one don't care how long it takes if baby steps gets us there eventually, but when it happens, we need the right strategies in recruitment and junior development to keep us there year after year like the Storm/Riff examples.
Only a fisherman can understand this form of patience Steve

Haven't watched yet, assuming its another PR spin:

The fact that they need to do these interviews/put out all these statements, says it all.

Ya got so very wrong, own it.
Yep , they just need to try and keep it positive as it was 100% a very poor outcome lead by Gould , Ceraldo and Galvin Camp , but Galvin could have just gone there and played out 2025 in reserves , coach made calls and destroyed there season , yes they were on top of comp but already had 3 byes , played weaker teams first up dream run , but they were set up by mid season with wins , positive around team so they should have finished better as applied to a team like say tigers who let’s say get
Melbourne , Broncos , Cronulla , Roosters , dolphins , etc all first up , puts you behind the 8 ball straight away as most games would end in defeat and last place on ladder , The NRL should make a first 4 / 5 rounds hand select games to stir up the pot to start season ,
Melb V penrith
Cronulla V Raiders
Roosters V Dolphins
Broncos V bulldogs
Tigers V Titans
South’s V Parra. Etc
