Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You talking about Meilekamp?

You think.hes gunna dump on them in his first week....let alone ever?

He has to toe the company line.and try and present a smooth and unified outfit...he has players to recruit...merch and.memberships to flog..fans.to.try.keep happy..sponsorships etc etc
Its a balancing act
Can't wait to see the calibre of recruit he brings in after recent events, especially if we lose Bula.

Good riddance to all of them except maybe Papa. Richo knew what he was doing. Clearing the decks of trouble makers, wannabes and over priced bums is retention 101.
I think this is such a one eyed view. They're not trouble makers, wannabes and bums elsewhere and they weren't before they left the club. Prior to leaving most were regarded as key retention targets.

Doubt hbg will give him the flexibility to do his best

That’s because you are not arguing the same topic I am.
When you respond to someone, you have to address what they are saying first.
I’m not talking about attracting players, I’m talking about managing the roster already at the club.
What’s good for the goose…

I wasn’t talking about attracting players. I responded to your critique of Richo because I think it’s too simplistic.

I disagree that the players we lost was a failure. The players clearly hadn’t bought in so they left, mostly for unders if that tells you anything? Would you prefer they stay for overs but not have their heart in it? That’s on the individual not the ceo. The best example is Pap who was happy to take the money and publically not “buy in” from day dot. If you’re not on the bus then cya. We probably disagree with this philosophy (I don’t want to put words in your mouth so correct me) but if a professional in team sports hasn’t bought in then it’s unlikely they’ll see success. Most of them aren’t black and white robots.

Maybe I was being a bit harsh, but Galvin was never worth the effort, I don't really rate TDS and Klemmer and Bateman were well past their prime. I think we are better off without them.

The reason Pap came to us was the coach that got him here (his national coach) the one Sheens shafted quickly so he could fail as coach yet again.Sheens was like our board, completely out of touch living in the past and dysfunctional.

I don’t understand?
HBG somehow made Parra and the Bulldogs think Galvin was signing with them both?
What do you mean it was HBG as I’m not picking up what you’re putting down obviously?
No mate. . . it was sarcasm. Following on from the thoughts that Bula was leaving because of all the board uncertainty, and as of very recently, nothing to do with his weaselly manager any more.

The guy has the runs on the board from previous jobs , he did very well , unfortunately he will have HBG all over him and he will toe the line , The only way to make the Wests Tigers a real quality club is for HBG to just sell up , the people like Dennis and co can’t run a football club , to much back stabbing , debenture holders that are 20 years out of date , it’s never going to work , il put one out there now , next one punted is Dennis B

You raise a fair point that if they aren't buying in, there's kind of no point keeping them. But I disagree it is entirely on the individuals. In my opinion it is up to the club to get them to buy in. The coach is probably the most key figure but the CEO, head of football, leadership group all play their roles as well. There are too many people who have not bought in to blame it all on each individual. I also don't blame it all on Richo or Benji or any one individual. But something has clearly been broken for sometime, which Richo failed to fix. Whether it was ever possible for him to do so is another matter.

Cant believe we are talking Connor Tracey. Signiny the guy who our guy was signed to replace would be peak Tigers. Tracey tries hard but offers nothing but effort. Attard has played 2 games against adults.

We are (jah)reaming if we think we are replacing Bula with anything better. Can't believe peoples willingness to lose him, its like we are watching different players.
It's like so many on here thought lobb was going to be a star

Fair enough. Just struggling with the rationale. The teams difficulties were in scoring points both in structure and with strike. Bulldogs have seemingly also identified this and are seeking to move Tracey out and Bula in. Tracey a huge backward step imo but each to their own

I’m not struggling to understand the rationale or his stats. He did alright -
  • 22 games
  • 12 tries
  • 181 running metres
Had he not suffered an abdominal injury, he was on track to finish inside the top five of the Dally M leaderboard. Pretty good for a $500k fullback.

I stated in my initial post that if Bula leaves, Connor would be someone that I’d target.

Our Wests Tigers have been in the footy bowels for so long, most fans have just wanted a fix to get us back into the finals again.
Each new player became another on the fans' wish list where hope trumped reality.
Most players tried their best.
Just out of their depth.
The sad truth is we had what we had, and results proved the players were just not up to it.
Mitch Moses is the last player I can remember who did not put in - shame on him!
Season 2026 is another in the loop - and again, hope is the top card in our pack.

You could probably put Turuva back there and get the same output. Realistically neither are improving us
