Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ah yes, they put coach Nathan Brown as assistant.

"Head Coach Jason Ryles, supported by assistants Nathan Brown, Scott Wisemantel, Sam Moa, and Nathan Cayless"

I just can't believe that we had Shane Flanagan ready to be assistant to Madge and we knocked him back.

Madge would have been knifed by Flanno before we even got close to the wooden spoon. Then we could have been totally mediocre and whinging about Kyle F being signed up for 5 years.

Instead we have the reality of Tim Sheens smack us in the face.
Why pay out an under performing coach once, when you can do it twice...
The same Coach!

Twal is pushing 10 years as a staple of our pack and you don’t consider him a 1st grader? Good luck getting away with that.

I wouldn’t have to go back too far to see all those that thought signing Royce Hint was going to revolutionise the pack - and an upgrade on Stefano.
probably could still find some hangers on at that.
I could never understand the disdain for Twal I thought he played well for us last season, before that copped a lot of niggling injuries for a while and was below his best.

Can't imagine playing with rib/shoulder complaints through the middle copping a battering, needled all the time.

If I'm helping run the socials you know the clubs going under 🤪
If I was running the joint I'd be doing a Wests Tigers T.V monthly subscription. All grades apart from first grade live. All junior trials live. All interviews, weekly show with the players and coaching staff from all grades and nrlw. All locker room access. N.R.L obviously would be on fox as would nrlw, but you could run replays. It wouldnt need to be exceptional video quality, just what were using now to stream all our lower grade mens, womens, junior games live. One monthly price for members and one a bit more expensive for non members.Wests Tigers t.v
Can we run Tales from Tigertown regularly as well please?

Twal is on a modest contract compared to the value he provides the team. He will get no complaints from me.

Jesse is a future Origin player I would risk it and offer him a 4 year contract pay overs for the first two years and the last two what ever a quality origin play is on
Who would be the player on good money released for this?
We are getting close to the point were we have only average money left for our remaining roster spots.
Ave of about 250k each

Sorry but for me has always been a PLODDER! He has been an integral part of of a Wooden Spoon side.

1/2 of our squad is up for contract renewal next season, plenty of wiggle room to maneuver in the market place

I think he has always clearly been first grade quality but a worse footballer than just about every other clubs starting middles.
My disdain for him (and not his fault) comes from others talking him up or at least talking up attributes that I believe he lacks. The best example I can think of is I recently (and have often historically) read on here how he should start to sure up our middle defence. Now he in my opinion is very good at making his tackles but is hopeless at suring us up defensively as he does nothing to help those around. Doesn't tie in, no inside pressure, no line speed, no ruck control, nothing. But, yes he does tackle well.
Similarly his offence is one dimensional and ineffective but at least he is always willing to take a carry.

No coach will ever succeed here under the Holman Barnes Group. The clowns hired him in the first place & have just given him the longest contract of any coach in the NRL.
BAT you are correct! I also can't reconcile the decision to add years to his current contract. I do wish him well in 2026 but reviewing the playing roster I see NO 1-8 ladder finish for our battling Tigers.

True greg he's nowhere near topline but he tries hard and if he suddenly came onto the market, I doubt that he would be without a club for very long.

If only he could produce the form he did in the win against the dogs every week he would be more valuable.

Didn;t some club make a play for him a few years ago , yet he stayed for less on a longer deal.
Im as tight as a fish;s bung hole , but at the time (forget the details) it was value for money , yet maybe a year to long
