Wouldnt it be such a Wests Tigers thing if the NRL shit the bed and realise they have given PNG way too much of an advantage and look to roll the incentives back a bit to create balance. We lose Luai and they wake up, a bit like introducing the soft whistle when the refs screwed us against the cows, the anti tampering when gus screwed us over galvin, the hip drop when hastings had his leg broken, and most recently the tap on the head penalty when Moses challenged and almost cost us the game....all were disadvantages we wore before they changed the rules so others would not have to suffer......feel free to add other examples.

JL is not a million dollar player. When he signed for the dollars at the time all types of promises were made abt him not being the man cause of Cleary and how he was going to lead the side around as a 7. When you consider the amount of times AD gets the ball compared to JL. Hes been value of the field but very over rated on and Benji knows that and would of been excited for the PNG opportunity considering how close they are.

Are you missing the little detail about him being in jail for 6 or 7 years? I feel like you are conveniently ignoring that part. At Manly he was much younger and was a free man.

In isolation, this isn't a big deal.

If they pillage our club and we are left decimated while all the fringe guys get swallowed up with tax free money incentives as well, it really makes it hard to replace your losses.

A guy on 250k is pocketing $20k a month over there vs around $12 in Australia. Big difference...a guy like Madden on $350k is more likely to sit in PNG as depth for 3 years if he is not paying tax...tbh...I'm thinking they will have a really strong side and any time they want to recruit, they will get their man...I think this is a disaster by the NRL and clubs will revolt as PNG pick the eyes out of other clubs.

The advantage is too big and even worse for clubs that already struggle to attract players because of geography.

You can’t afford to lose all your marquee players at once. The cash freed up needs to be used to sign our next best quartet of players, if we manage this we’ll get through it alright.

Lose another big 3 and Benji doesn’t stand a chance.

So drones now are super cheap.
Drones too don't really need oxygen to breathe. They basically need a battery or some power source, they could get a bit of Tidal power...

TLDR, a low power floating landmine that could exist in the water for months.

A say 30 Billion sub would be a prime target. people would happily make a mine for $500,000 and maybe deploy 20 of them to take one out.... Now could a sub lead a drone fleet, maybe. Defensively though they would be very vulnerable.
