Yea, I had this theory...

So drones now are super cheap.
Drones too don't really need oxygen to breathe. They basically need a battery or some power source, they could get a bit of Tidal power...

TLDR, a low power floating landmine that could exist in the water for months.

A say 30 Billion sub would be a prime target. people would happily make a mine for $500,000 and maybe deploy 20 of them to take one out.... Now could a sub lead a drone fleet, maybe. Defensively though they would be very vulnerable.

People need air, drones dont. Changes the design and threat characteristics entirely. ...
2040 is a very long time to wait for a Nuclear Sub

Ukraine are making under water mines which the ruskies can't detect

What you say is true, but my fear is that even an offer from PNG on less money puts more money in the players pocket. We are no longer on an even playing field (and neither are the other clubs).

I doubt any player is taking their current club offer over an offer from PNG because of the huge difference across their contract.

All we can hope is PNG don't offer the player a contract, but with 29 spots to fill and 18 teams, we will get more of this going forward.

Some clubs will get hit harder than others. We have plenty of guys off contract. We will lose some to the PNG cash grab and even with the freed up cap space, if they have eaten up all the best players, are we back to paying overs to compete? I'm tipping yes.
It’s about working out the nucleus players like Penrith have done, you simply can’t lose those glue guys.

Doesn’t matter what his brothers tell him. They don’t run the club. No one would give a toss about him if he had a different last name.
Yes, and no.

I reckon the Storm track players like Manase Fainu. If Harry Grant was injured then such a player would be an opportunity for Bellamy. Likewise Wayne Bennett, he would get the club to take that risk and manage him right.

Benji, facing a player who has issues? Along with 3 brothers who will clearly be united?? I worry.

More then that Manase hasn't exactly been remoseful. His case is "I dinnit do it" as far as I can see.

Off-field signing/appointment in DT:

WESTS TIGERS PROMOTE PREMIERSHIP WINNER

Wests Tigers premiership winner Pat Richards has been promoted to become the club’s senior NRL manager – which is essentially the acting head of football.

Richards has stepped up into the role given former head of football Shaun Mielekamp is now chief executive. While he has done a good job since taking over from Shane Richardson, Mielekamp has not yet been announced as permanent boss.

Richards coached the Western Suburbs Harold Matthews side this year having previously been involved in mentoring outside backs in the club’s pathways programs.

I think we are talking past each other.

I know "what it's about", but you don't address how the Tigers compete with a tax-free offer? Much like we could not compete when it came to Jarome.

You think this is the last player that will leave for the cash? People can pontificate all they like but if an offer comes from PNG, the player will leave no matter what we out in front of them.

You’ve just got to keep those glue guys.

Which means make it happen.

It leaves you light in the cap and needing to develop kids at a good rate to compensate.
