Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There isn't many first grade ready hookers available...
Sam Verrills is the best option.

Api is very important to this team, but if he's suspended or injured... we are relying on Hope. Literally.

Jared Heywood is likely the future but not ready so what do we do.... make do with Hope? Go to market? I don't think Benji is worrying about this.

Api is the key > Hope is a stopgap > Heywood is earmarked to take over.
Pick Heywood asap

Michael Gabrel @ the sharks is under contract for 2026 and 2027, not getting a look.

Sharks seem to keep their talent and bring them along, eventually.... they did this with KL Iro.

We got Michael's brother playing cup... I'd be reaching out and seeing if that's an option.

The interpretation of it keeps changing, kids are literally taught to tackle the legs and small man on bigger man from behind it’s just a split second do your best. It’s a farce.
Api lands on the legs of the player a few times every year.
He needs to adjust his technique as they are watching him closely.

People seriously can’t be serious with Haywood playing next week. He’s played two games of cup and had 2 runs and has a tackle efficiency of 84%. Not worth blooding the kid, I’d say have Murray start and Hope come on so he isn’t tired and can get involved more offensively, agree he isn’t first grade material and we need to move on sooner rather than later, and before I cop slack Haywood is our future, but it isn’t his time yet

Haywood, Attard. It’s an overreaction. You don’t blood kids that young when you are going backwards and have injuries out of the arse. And not only that, picking them with the expectation that they will turn the ship around. You don’t put that kind of pressure on debutants.

Once the govt announced their money was tax free the N.R.L should have come out and stated that P.N.G will have 75% of the salary cap to maintain their roster after 3 years. Essentially that gives them a salary cap that is 50% bigger than everyone else. Also 25% of all third party agreement money is withhrld and given back to the N.R.L for grassroots football in P.N.G and Australia.
can't cruel the players on 3rd parties, no matter how obscure it is

3rd party agreements are unlimited and wont be taxed. Technically they have a salary cap about 45% bigger than everyone else and any corporate dollars they can throw at players. No club can compete with that. Not only sibsidised by our govt but theirs aswell.
All this PNG talk tbh all i care is that they took JL of us as he is the most OVERRATED player in the NRL. They are kidding if they think hel make them competitive . They are going to need every advantage if hes there marquee player. He does nothing but steps sideways . All this talk abt stepping out of Nathans shadow lol.

Is Valeepu good or just big?

And Manase - is he in good shape? Should be. It’s not like there is much to do for him day to day

Perth Bears still don’t have a starting hooker.
The Bulldogs are starting to realise Bailey Hayward may not be the answer as their starting hooker.
The Dragons will need a replacement for Damian Cook.
Manly don’t have anyone locked in as a certainly at 9.
Luke Brookes will probably have to be their 9 pretty soon if he wants to stay in 1st grade. Joey Walsh and Fogerty are well ahead of him
