Maybe the club should be going all in on Brookes as a winger for now. Could play himself into a top 30 if form continues in Cup. Could be a good min wage replacement for the likes of Will Craig.

Need some better depth for 2027 or we will be in the same position we are in now.

Deinninger looks a handy player that can play multiple positions. Worth developing

Desperately need depth in:

- 2nd row
- front row
- centre
- a decent hooker/fullback back up .... unless haywood/attard etc are anywhere near close

No more halves and no more wingers. Way too much of our cap tied up here.

Not much quality available tbh

We’ve got plenty of depth . The people who were given opportunities shit the bed . Do they have the potential … yes! Many like Sukkar are absolutely dominating the lower levels , which says to me they’re not getting thier mental right when they step up , rather than a talent issue . The issue is the sheer volume and top heavy injuries we are going through . It’s not like the broncos so it’s Walsh , bench hooker 1st drop hooker , 2nd drop hooker , bench edge and bench forward , and starting prop.
It’s literally starting fullback , starting winger , starting prop , starting halfback , starting edge , starting hooker .
As the players drip back into the team watch the depth players emerge and have stronger performances . The issue is 6-7 of them have come up together , so the nrl team is basically field 50% cups starting lineup . It’s really hard to win under those circumstances.
In saying that , Ethan Roberts is a gun C and I think he will surprise most by doing a very good job in place of Samuela.
Also people need to know that Heyward isn’t debuting because the club , his family and management , and himself believe he needs to progress slowly , so this is a bit of an issue .
Lanyon when he gets the shit out of his game , will be next to debut , and he’s a gun 9/13. People will fall in love with him quick . He’s doing a great job in a resurgent KOE team .
Sukkar player better than both second rowers today. He should be starting. He rarely misses tackles and has good control of the ball. Solid in defence and takes those hard it ups from our try line that non of the second rowers did today.

Forwards went missing in action and backs did not turn up.

Bring Murray, bunty, Geyer, Sukkar up and give them game time while your troops are down and prepare them for next season.

Ethan needs more time in cup to further develop his skills. Definitely has potential but you can not miss tackles like that and drop the ball at crucial times in a game. It will be hard for him to get back in that team if Benji is real about his standards.

You just don’t debut a young kid in a weak team. This is not how you build confidence with young players.

Sioni was disappointing and big red was out of place. Terrell May is to worried about his stats. No grunt or punch and just flops on players in a tackle. Does not hit the ball hard when running in to it. Loves running the 4th tackle so he does not kick chase and put pressure.

Services from dummy half was dire!

Laui’s head is already in PNG even though two years away. Too much hoping and skipping and jumping around. Needs to play at the line direct and attack defenders.

Hunt, top bloke but only for 10min

KPP over rated, nothing special after his first 1-2 games.

Heath a lot to still develop and work on under pressure. A few good high ball catches and good speed but defence is very poor.

We just looked terrible out there and no one took charge of the team. No hunger and desire to win, too much time worrying about tik toks and getting clout.

Now we lose our position in the top 8 and footy each week is shit to watch.

Next year as soon as were able Mielenkamp needs to go to the HBG board and tell them to invent something that gets us a massive 3rd party agreement and as soon as we can throw as much as they can muster at Katoa as soon as he can negotiate.

Do they shit the bed or haven't been developed adequately,
We've been very poor in player development for a very long time.
It’s real simple, the coach does not know how to get the right player combination on the field. It seems he just sees them as bodies to cover positions. Just no real understanding of each players strengths and weakness and which combinations on the field would work best. This is poor leadership and a lack of understanding of what good combinations and team work on each edge needs to look like. On top of all that, you can’t coach with emotions on the side of the field. Every other great coach is in the box watching their players and where they are not gelling well and executing combinations as worked on at training. They are getting updates in statistics of the game so they can make calls and send back to the troops on the field. We are to worried about how we look on the side line.

Around a month or so ago I watched a Wests Magpies game and I was so impressed by the 2 wingers / I don’t know their names though

Benji needs to figure out what Makasini’s role is (ie winger or centre).

If it’s centre as I expect, we’ll need a left winger.

I think Jenkins is off contract, he might be too expensive. Maybe Stonestreet.

Skelton is clearly not rated and we don’t have anyone coming through who will be ready next year.

That was one of the worst efforts I’ve seen from an NRL player in NSW Cup.

He’s cooked.
His arm is really bad. He has to surrender in contact and in attack can only pass to his winger & not fend like he used to.

Some others saying Brookes - he had a game to forget on the wing with his hands, granted it’s his first game there so might be worth persisting with but there’s no quick fixes in our cup team atm like everyone wants.

What a load of crap. Sticky is on the side line. They have people in the box relaying information all game. Don’t think Benji cares less how he looks

We should be enquiring about Jesse Arthurs, Jake Averillo, Enari Tuala, Sione Katoa.

Toa is cooked. We need either a right winger or centre pending what you want to with Turuva.

I would have TayMay & Makasini on the left.

Tavana will be depth to give time to develop. Herbert more depth.

Attard as the back up #1.

I think we would be a chance for Arthurs with his Maori heritage & Averillo is an ex-sydney boy.

1. Bula/Attard
2. Turuva/Tavana
3. Averillo*/Toa
4. TayMay/Herbert
5. Makasini/Arthurs* (included in the 19)

Please.

Both would have interest elsewhere but, they walk into our 17.
