These injuries are a blessing in disguise.

We have all seen which reserves can handle the step up, which benchies could start, which starters are able to lead. Sadly, on one hand, I don't think anyone has stepped up except perhaps Taylan (although Sharks game he was dreadful)...but we know where we stand now.

We know that Benji hasn't really got this worked out just yet.

So the club needs to round out the squad and cut the dead wood. I would expect 2/3 of it to be done by start of 2027 season.

Bring Murray, bunty, Geyer, Sukkar up and give them game time while your troops are down and prepare them for next season.

Ethan needs more time in cup to further develop his skills. Definitely has potential but you can not miss tackles like that and drop the ball at crucial times in a game. It will be hard for him to get back in that team if Benji is real about his standards.

You just don’t debut a young kid in a weak team. This is not how you build confidence with young players.


Sioni was disappointing and big red was out of place. Terrell May is to worried about his stats. No grunt or punch and just flops on players in a tackle. Does not hit the ball hard when running in to it. Loves running the 4th tackle so he does not kick chase and put pressure.

Services from dummy half was dire!

Laui’s head is already in PNG even though two years away. Too much hoping and skipping and jumping around. Needs to play at the line direct and attack defenders.

Hunt, top bloke but only for 10min

KPP over rated, nothing special after his first 1-2 games.

Heath a lot to still develop and work on under pressure. A few good high ball catches and good speed but defence is very poor.

We just looked terrible out there and no one took charge of the team. No hunger and desire to win, too much time worrying about tik toks and getting clout.

Now we lose our position in the top 8 and footy each week is shit to watch.

Ethan played really well for a debutant . Sukkar is shocking defensively .he got dropped for a reason . One kid played well in a beaten team , in a much higher grade , the other dominated in a losing team at a much lower grade . I’d be sticking with Roberts for now . The edge was much tighter and more connected when he came on . Seyfarth has shone IMO along with Sione , they are no longer capable of failing a job on the edge . I actually thought Seyfarth played well when he moved back to the middle .
Sione ? He needs a stint in KOE along with Pole .
There’s people on here , whoever clearly never played before and it frustrates the hell put me . Communication starts from the middle out . The half usually is the one who controls what each edge does , but the middles need to work hard out of marker to close down spaces to alow the edges to make decisions . If an edge collapses it’s normally happened at the 4 man and connection with the middle . The right edge issues however are at the 3 man , as whoever plays with madden both is 2 and 4 either side of him , constantly are getting sucked in to provide aide for madden . Whether he needs it or not . Herbert is not fast enough , not good enough to be doing 2 things at once . So next to AD , you can have a Herbert there . You can’t next to madden . I’d be putting Turuva at right 2 .
The biggest issue with being stripped for numbers though is because of communication from the fullback . They need to be vocal and constantly moving the defenc around to match the numbers in attack . They also have to , I repeat have to , make their tackles when defending in the line in the red zone .
And Mason hasn’t been up to this . We really miss Bula . And if May is gone for the season we need another centre .

We really failed in the depth dept recruiting this year, Herbert, Bunty...not what we thought theyd be.
Roberts looked OK yesterday but we know what will happen, he'll plateau or burn out

We are a bit quicker I think than previous seasons, it used to do my head in seeing a backline spread only for the winger having to hit the brakes seeing a dead end trying to go around the opposition

My recollection was he was talking about 2026 only … they have only 22 players signed and one of them is your mate Toa who won’t be considered for NRL I don’t think , so they will need a few more players from somewhere ..

There is no galvIn in team!

Kyle Flanagan, LB and a bunch of players do a whole lot of effort in loosing teams.

I can recall a few SOO where Greg Ingles was site unseen, then intercepted the ball to score. Luai can be that kind of player, but we don't have that kind of team where we can afford him to go quiet.

Hopefully Api returning changes things.

I am wondering why Jeremy Marshall-king isn't brought in. Probably good for him if he isn't playing under his brother for a bit. Clearly JMK can play.

Manase Fainu comes to mind as well. I am certain we are leaving a roster spot open for him.

We loose Luai, Luke Metcalf is on the market for a few weeks. ...

The dragons sign him. Why wern't we making a pitch?

We clearly need an organising halfback and there are not many in supply.
