Weird thing with AJ- I'd take him back on the right size deal too.

The issue with those guys was what their role was back in the day.

As a club's #28-#30 player on the roster, accordingly paid, they are not bad depth.

Just shows how far we have come already as a club.

Wonder if Knights worked out he’s not a back or a forward yet.

Latu and Andrews were great in a badly beaten cup team a few weeks back. I don't see the strategy as playing him anywhere as good for a young half, being used in a utility role doesnt help him develop as a NRL half. He needs to consider his long term NRL career. AD ahead of him, and Madden according to team selections.

Madden has played the last 2 years injury free though, so he slots straight into the nrl and we barely missed a beat. Latu spent most of the off-season recovering didnt he?

My point being i think latu is ahead on the pecking order when fully fit, he just hasnt had the minutes on the field the last few years.

Benji and Latu have both been pretty open an about the strategy to build up his game fitness. Maybe they think he gets more out of 30 mins per week in NRL vs 80 in cup. At some point that needs to change though - next week might be a sliding doors moment.

Are we into the 3rd year of them building Latu ‘up for NRL’?
Kid was up on blocks for most of the year before he got here and is still busted more often than not…

Madden didn't play for us in the last two years so I have no idea whether he was injury free or not. Latu had a slap tear repair in the off season. He is 20 years old. My point is, if he is the future as he should be, he should be playing cup and developing in his position, rather than being used as a utility. I get he has had injuries and they've been patient with him. The he is too good to leave out is somewhat true, but I find that hard to see him where he belongs, long term in this team, when others are being nurtured in the lower grades. Andrews is a gun, he's learning his trade. Latu is not.

Correct. Had a torn pec so was out for a few months. Only returned late in the season for Wynnum Manly.

We have 2 left centres so sign a 3rd one. He chucked a hissy at the dogs because they made him play on the right, why would he go someone else to play on the right

Taylan is all class he could play either side, if we signed Xerri and we trained him all summer on the right it may not bother him.

Want to see him in some space first to see if he still has good pace, if not, pass.

Yeah he’s the same age as Mitch Woods who can’t get on the field either. At least he’s played some footy so far.
