Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

the poster said luke brooks has been playing poor for manly
stupid comment to make, he has been one of the form 6's in the comp this year
I didn't say he's been playing poor for Manly, that's putting words in my mouth. I said he was ordinary when he was with us and is still the same player now. Is he playing decent footy in one of the in-form teams in the comp? Yeah, he is. Is he much more suited to playing 6 than he ever was at 7? For sure, and credit to the Sea Eagles for identifying what our club seemed incapable of (how, I'll never know). But has he gone to another level and significantly developed his game since leaving us, which is what the post I was replying to implied? No, I don't believe he has. His form has mostly been pretty patchy at Manly since he joined them, but right now, Foz has got the whole team playing a good brand of footy and credit to him for that (and credit to Brooksy for playing his part).

Listen, I've got no hate for the bloke. But to suggest he's anything more than an average first-grader or that he's grown another leg since he left us belies a pretty strong body of evidence to the contrary.

playing that Parramatta game every year and gifting them a home field advantage burns me …. At least play it at Accor on a neutral ground
No, not Accor Stadium, hold it at Allianz.

There won't be as many empty seats (TV optics are crucial for sponsors, gaining new fans etc), the atmosphere would be better & there's more to do closer to the City & Eastern suburbs than there is in Homebush & surrounds before & or after the game 😉

see how they finish at the end of the year i guess.
he is playing good football at present for manly, i expect them to go to another level when turbo comes back.
He is playing far better than what he played with us, as far as 6's go he would be in the top 10 this year on form

Walsh is too good for cup he’s dominating it every week. Brooks does a job but not the priority with the halves they have coming through
as i said at present manly are happy with brooks apparently
if they go deep in finals this year i can't see them changing he has 1 more year end of 2027
What i heard from the man himself is not to expect to be re-signed for 2028, that will be Walsh's time bar injury. Manly are pretty clear on it, he knows that.
At present brooks is going nowhere in that team apart from the 6

If you say so

What was he saying at the start of the year before Foran got the job ?

He was about as popular as a fart in a lift amongst the Manly fans I know back then …
as i had said previously siebold was so confusing apparently in his game plans etc, mot many of the team were not playing well.
Foran is very happy with him at present that is all I am saying

He was out the door mate for 2027 back in those days …
when seibold was coaching them...
Apparently even turbo was confused with all teh training, the speakers being rolled out at training creating crowd noise, booing etc while they trained.
The same idiotic methods siebold used at souths apparently

Brooks is still a liability when he is asked to be the chief playmaker. I don't think he was bad as a 6 when he played with us and at the time Benji was keen to resign him. I don't think he is a better player at Manly, just playing his right position and not being asked to steer the team or complete sets. My criticism of him at the tigers were his last tackle options and i don't think that has changed much at Manly when he has had to take on the role. He has always been a great defender for a half and great running 6, also has relatively soft hands to pick up a back rower or FB/Centre running a line. DCE > Fogarty > Walsh has meant he is pretty safe not needing to step up.

I reckon next year they are going to fit Walsh into that team every week
