Not even a fair contest.
Luke is Turuva-lite.

Most who watch our lower grades regularly agree.
I know you are not really a fan of Luke Laulilli due to his lack of size, but he offers everything that Turuva does and I think he is faster with much better tackle break and line break threat. I think we made an error letting him go and re-signing Turuva on big money as you can only really afford to have one player of their stature in your team.

No doubt he is a liability due to his lack of height under the high ball, but is Turuva any different ?
That is why I say you cannot have them both in the team as wingers and probably the reason we decided to let LL go.
Turuva who we are paying around 450k per season, possibly more with his recent extension is no better than Luke Laulilli who potentially has much more improvement in his game and is certain to be at a much cheaper cost, I’m assuming his contract with Perth Bears would only be 200 - 250k

He's bigger and better in the air and in the end that makes a big difference. He's less of a liability. Add the fact he has an infectious personality and is at the heart of the culture of our club and he's indispensable.
Luke does have slightly better acceleration, granted, but that's all he has over Tito.

What does he currently do on the rugby league field that is better, or that Luke Laulilli cannot do ?
I admire Turuva’s fearless yardage carries which are always a big help to us, but Luke Laulilli is equally as good in this area, but is faster and always looks more likely to make a clean line break.
I have no problem with Turuva being in our team, just making the point that we had a near identical player for half the contract value if we wanted to save money to assist in other positions.

Near identical? You have to be kidding. Luke drops the ball regularly in attack and defending kicks. And Luke's defensive reads are as bad as Nofa

NRL players don't get anything close to $40m or stupid pay. Sure I would LOVE a NRL player salary, but not in the soccer league.
